Functional EVP:

Quality at DIRECTV starts long before a product reaches the customer. As part of DQE, you’ll work alongside engineering teams to strengthen how software is designed, tested and released. You’ll drive automation, testing and quality practices across products and platforms, helping teams identify issues earlier, improve reliability and deliver with greater confidence.





Job Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

- Serve as a principal technical authority for enterprise non-functional quality engineering initiatives.
- Establish engineering standards and best practices for performance, scalability, reliability, and resilience testing.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across quality engineering teams.
- Influence architecture decisions that impact application performance and operational excellence.

Architecture & Engineering Excellence:

- Design and implement enterprise performance engineering strategies.
- Lead load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing initiatives.
- Drive adoption of observability and application performance monitoring practices.
- Partner with Architecture and Engineering teams to identify and remediate performance bottlenecks.
- Support cloud-native platform performance optimization and resiliency practices.

Quality Engineering & Delivery:

- Integrate performance engineering into CI/CD and DevOps workflows.
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks supporting quality and performance testing.
- Establish governance and reporting processes for non-functional quality objectives.
- Support enterprise modernization efforts through engineering excellence initiatives

AI & Innovation:

- Drive adoption of AI/LLM-augmented testing approaches.
- Evaluate emerging performance engineering tools and platforms.
- Champion automation and intelligent quality engineering practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve development velocity through engineering innovation.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

- 10-12 years of progressive software engineering experience.
- Extensive experience in performance engineering and scalability testing.
- Strong expertise with cloud-based distributed systems.
- Experience implementing observability and monitoring strategies.
- Proven experience leading enterprise technical initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.




- Experience operating in Agile and DevOps environments.
