Role Description The Mechanical CAD Design Engineer will work on-site in Kochi in a full-time capacity, creating detailed 3D and 2D designs for mechanical components and assemblies used in winding, cutting, and related industrial machinery. Daily responsibilities include preparing and updating CAD models and drawings, developing layouts and assembly concepts, and ensuring designs comply with functional, manufacturing, and safety requirements. The engineer will collaborate with mechanical, production, and quality teams to refine designs, support prototyping, and resolve technical issues.





The role also involves preparing technical documentation, bills of materials, and revision histories, as well as providing design support during installation, testing, and customer-specific customization.

Qualifications

- Solid proficiency in mechanical CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or similar) and experience creating 3D models, 2D drawings, and assembly layouts.
- Solid understanding of mechanical design principles, including tolerancing, materials selection, manufacturing processes, and design for assembly/production.
- Experience designing components or machinery for industrial applications such as winding, cutting, sheet-metal processing, or similar automated systems.
- Ability to interpret and create technical documentation, including engineering drawings, bills of materials, and specifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline; relevant industry experience in machine design is highly beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
- Comfort working on-site in a manufacturing-oriented environment and supporting design changes based on testing, feedback, and customer requirements.
- Familiarity with German or European engineering standards and practices is an advantage, as is experience working with international industrial customers.
