A restaurant storekeeper manages food, beverage, and operational inventory, ensuring proper stock rotation, hygiene compliance, and accurate tracking from delivery to kitchen issuance.

Job Summary: The storekeeper oversees the daily operations of the restaurant storeroom, dry goods areas, chillers, and freezers. This role minimizes waste, prevents stockouts, and collaborates closely with the kitchen, purchasing, and accounting teams.

Core Responsibilities

- Receiving & Inspection: Check incoming food, beverages, and supplies against purchase orders and delivery notes for quantity, quality, and damage. [1, 2]
- Stock Rotation: Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) methods to maintain freshness and minimize spoilage.
- Storage & Hygiene: Store items in designated freezers, chillers, and dry stores in line with food safety, HACCP, and local health regulations.
- Issuing Supplies: Dispense food, ingredients, and cleaning products to the kitchen and bar strictly against approved requisitions.
- Inventory Control: Maintain digital or manual stock logs,



track minimum/maximum levels, and flag slow-moving or expired items.
- Auditing & Counts: Conduct regular daily, weekly, and monthly physical stock counts to reconcile inventory variances.

Key Requirements & Skills

- Experience: Previous background in restaurant, hotel, or food and beverage (F&B;) store operations.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy, spreadsheet management (Excel), and familiarity with inventory management software or POS back-office systems.
- Knowledge: Understanding of food storage temperatures, shelf-life management, and sanitation guidelines.
- Soft Skills: Robust attention to detail, organization, integrity, and communication skills to coordinate with chefs and vendors.
