Position Summary

We are looking for a Site / Installation & Commissioning Engineer responsible for the installation, commissioning, testing, and successful handover of industrial automation and packaging machinery at customer sites. The role will involve working on secondary packaging machines, metal detectors, X-ray inspection systems, conveyors, special-purpose machines, and complete end-of-line automation projects.

The engineer will be responsible for ensuring that machines and integrated systems are installed safely, commissioned efficiently, and meet the agreed technical and performance requirements during Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).

Key Responsibilities

- Install, assemble, align, and commission industrial packaging and automation equipment at customer locations.
- Execute installation and commissioning activities for:
- Secondary packaging machines.
- Metal detection systems.
- X-ray inspection machines.
- Conveyors and material-handling systems.
- End-of-line packaging automation projects.
- Special-purpose machines and integrated automation systems.
- Interpret mechanical assembly drawings, electrical wiring diagrams, pneumatic layouts, and equipment manuals.
- Carry out mechanical adjustments, machine alignment, leveling, belt tracking, sensor positioning, and format-part changeovers.
- Perform electrical and instrumentation connections, testing, troubleshooting, and signal verification.
- Check I/O signals, sensor operation, safety circuits, interlocks, and communication between machines and line-control systems.
- Perform basic PLC programming, parameter setting, fault diagnosis, and logic modifications under approved engineering guidelines.
- Integrate individual machines with conveyors, upstream and downstream equipment, and customer production lines.
- Conduct dry runs, wet trials, product trials, and performance testing.
- Prepare machines and complete all required activities for Site Acceptance Testing.
- Support the preparation and execution of SAT protocols, performance reports, punch-point lists, and commissioning documents.




- Train customer operators and maintenance personnel on machine operation, changeover, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
- Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, electrical teams, customers, contractors, and subcontractors during site execution.
- Identify technical issues during installation and commissioning and provide timely feedback to the engineering and project teams.
- Ensure compliance with site safety procedures, company standards, customer requirements, and project timelines.
- Provide post-installation support and resolve commissioning-related issues until final handover.
- Travel extensively to customer sites, including manufacturing plants and project locations, as required.

Required Qualifications

Degree or Diploma in any of the following disciplines:

- Mechatronics Engineering.
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
- Instrumentation Engineering.
- Electrical Engineering.
- Electronics and Communication Engineering.

- Relevant experience in installation, commissioning, service, or project execution of industrial machinery and automation systems.
- Practical knowledge of mechanical machine adjustments and equipment alignment.
- Working knowledge of electrical panels, industrial wiring, sensors, actuators, motors, drives, relays, and control circuits.
- Basic knowledge of PLC programming, PLC troubleshooting, I/O checking, and HMI operation.
- Understanding of instrumentation devices such as photoelectric sensors, proximity sensors, encoders, load cells, safety switches, and inspection-system sensors.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.




- Willingness to travel frequently and work at customer sites for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently as well as coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Valuable verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

- Secondary packaging machinery, including cartoners, case packers, case erectors, case sealers, shrink-wrapping machines, palletizing systems, and related equipment.
- Food inspection and product-inspection equipment, including metal detectors and X-ray inspection systems.
- End-of-line automation and complete packaging-line integration.
- Conveyor systems, accumulation systems, transfers, reject mechanisms, and material-handling solutions.
- Special-purpose machines and customized automation equipment.
- PLC platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, Schneider, or similar systems.
- Servo motors, VFDs, pneumatic systems, industrial sensors, and machine safety systems.
- Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, production trials, and customer handover.
- Experience working in food, beverage, FMCG, pharmaceutical, dairy, or general manufacturing industries.
