Blue Yonder Solutions Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Blue Yonder Solutions Consultant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing, configuring, and optimizing Blue Yonder (formerly JDA) supply chain planning and execution solutions for our diverse client base. This role requires a deep understanding of supply chain processes, strong technical aptitude, and excellent client-facing communication skills to deliver successful project outcomes and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Production support

- Own L2/L3 functional support for our cloud-hosted Demand360 environment. Blue Yonder provides product support, so this is an analysis and ownership role, not development.

- Triage and root-cause production issues such as forecast anomalies, missing or incorrect forecasts, batch/workflow failures, and data load problems.

- Determine whether the cause is internal (AS400 feeds, sales history, item/location masters, promotion data, configuration, business process) or a Demand360 product issue.

- Trace data from AS400 backend jobs into Demand360, validate feed completeness, timing, and accuracy, and reconcile source-to-BY discrepancies.

- Raise and manage Service Requests (SRs) with Blue Yonder for product issues, with clear reproduction steps and evidence, and escalate when needed.

- Track issues to closure, keep stakeholders informed, and document root cause and fixes in a knowledge base and runbooks.

Enhancements and change

- Assess enhancement requests for feasibility: achievable through existing functionality or configuration, requires an internal AS400/interface change, or requires a Blue Yonder product change.

- Where BY is needed, document the gap and work with BY on scope,



options, timelines, and cost.

- Deliver impact assessments (forecasting, data, interface, process) with a clear recommendation.

Planner and business support

- Support planners on forecast behavior, including statistical model outputs, overrides, promotions and events, new item handling, and hierarchy/aggregation questions.

- Analyze forecast accuracy and bias, separating data issues from model or configuration issues.

Stakeholder and executive engagement

- Work directly with business users to understand problems and explain findings in business terms.

- Present issue trends, enhancement recommendations, and vendor performance to senior leadership and executives.

- Act as the primary functional liaison between the business, internal IT/AS400 teams, and Blue Yonder.

Release readiness

- Review BY cloud release notes for impact on current processes and integrations.

- Support regression and UAT for BY releases and internal changes affecting Demand360.

- Identify recurring issues and recommend preventive or process improvements.

Must Have

- 8+ years of functional experience in demand planning or forecasting, with hands-on Blue Yonder Demand360 (or predecessor JDA/BY demand products) experience in a support, consulting, or planning analyst role.

- Experience supporting Blue Yonder in a cloud/SaaS workplace,



including managing SRs with BY Support through to closure.

- Strong grasp of forecasting concepts: statistical models, seasonality, promotions, new product introduction, forecast accuracy, and bias.

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to isolate root cause across integrated systems.

- Solid understanding of integration concepts: batch and file-based feeds, mapping, validation, and reconciliation.

- Proven ability to evaluate enhancement requests and translate business needs into functional requirements.

- Senior judgment: knows whether an issue is internal or a vendor product defect, and can defend that position with evidence.

- Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience presenting to executives and senior business leaders.

- Business fluency: explains forecasting and data findings simply and builds trust with planners and executives.

- Vendor management skills: organized and persistent in driving Blue Yonder to resolution.

- Able to work independently and own issues end to end, with strong documentation discipline (RCAs, impact assessments, runbooks).

Nice to Have

- Working knowledge of AS400 / IBM i: job schedules, batch jobs, data files/tables, and program logic, enough to diagnose feed issues and talk credibly with AS400 developers (RPG/CL familiarity a plus).

- Basic SQL for querying and validating data on both the AS400 and BY sides.

- Industry experience in [retail / wholesale / distribution / manufacturing].

- Familiarity with downstream use of the forecast (replenishment, supply planning, or S&OP;).

- Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira) and incident/problem management practices.

- Blue Yonder certifications.
