An Assistant Professor in Psychology with a doctorate is primarily responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses, conducting research, and mentoring students.

Key Responsibilities:

- Teaching :Develop and deliver lectures, create course materials (syllabi, assignments, etc.), conduct assessments (exams, papers, etc.), and facilitate classroom discussions in undergraduate and graduate psychology courses.
- Research :Conduct independent research, supervise student research projects, and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
- Mentoring :Provide academic advising and career guidance to students, helping them navigate their educational and skilled journeys.
- Curriculum Development :Contribute to the development and review of course curricula, ensuring they align with current trends and best practices in the field.
- Departmental Involvement :Participate in departmental meetings, contribute to strategic planning, and collaborate with colleagues on various initiatives.
- Service :Engage in university and community service activities, such as participating in committees,



attending university events, and contributing to outreach programs.
- Professional Development :Stay current with the latest research and trends in psychology and incorporate new knowledge into teaching and research.

Qualifications:

- Doctoral Degree : A Ph.D. in Psychology is typically required.
- Research Experience : Demonstrated ability to conduct and publish research in psychology.
- Teaching Experience : Prior experience teaching psychology courses at the college or university level is often preferred.
- Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for teaching, research, and mentoring.
