Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a medical store, including dispensing medicines, maintaining inventory, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities Pharmacy Operations
- Dispense medicines accurately as per prescriptions
- Verify prescriptions for legality and authenticity
- Provide basic guidance on dosage, storage, and side effects
- Handle over-the-counter (OTC) medication sales
Inventory Management
- Maintain optimal stock levels of medicines and healthcare products
- Monitor expiry dates and remove near-expiry items
- Perform regular stock audits and reconciliation
- Place orders with suppliers and track deliveries
- Maintain records of purchases and sales
Billing & Documentation
- Generate bills and maintain sales records
- Ensure proper documentation for controlled drugs
- Handle insurance or reimbursement claims (if applicable)
⚖Compliance & Safety
- Follow drug storage guidelines (temperature, humidity, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with local drug regulations and licenses
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the store
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols
Customer Service
- Assist customers in finding medicines and healthcare products
- Address customer queries and complaints professionally
- Build customer relationships and trust
Qualifications :
- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (D.Pharm / B.Pharm)
- Valid Pharmacist License (as per local regulations)
Skills Required
- Knowledge of medicines and pharmaceutical products
- Inventory management and stock control
- Basic computer skills (billing software, MS Excel)
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Communication and customer handling skills
Experience
- Experience in retail pharmacy or hospital pharmacy is a plus
