Senior Project Engineer TES (Planning & Execution)

Division: Thermal Energy Storage (TES)

Location: Delhi NCR, Mumbai with travel to manufacturing facilities and project sites

Qualification: B.Tech / B.E. Mechanical Engineering (Diploma candidates with strong relevant experience may also be considered)

Experience: 5 to 8 years

Employment: Full time

Position Objective

To independently plan, coordinate, monitor and execute Thermal Energy Storage (TES) projects from receipt of customer purchase order through engineering approvals, procurement, tank fabrication, diffuser manufacturing, quality inspections, dispatch, installation, commissioning and final commercial closure.

The position will be responsible for ensuring that projects are executed in accordance with contractual specifications, approved drawings, committed timelines, quality requirements and commercial milestones.

Key Responsibilities

A. Order Review & Project Planning

- Review customer purchase orders, tender specifications, technical requirements and contractual obligations.
- Identify project deliverables, approval requirements, inspection stages, delivery commitments and payment milestones.
- Prepare detailed project execution schedules covering engineering, procurement, manufacturing, inspection, dispatch and commissioning.
- Identify critical-path activities and proactively prevent delays.

B. Engineering & Technical Submittals

- Coordinate preparation and submission of technical documents, GA drawings, calculations, QAPs and other required documents.
- Obtain approvals from customers and consultants.
- Coordinate responses to technical comments and ensure timely closure.




- Coordinate with the internal design team for TES tank and radial disc diffuser design.
- Ensure diffuser design, dimensions, connections and installation requirements are aligned with approved tank drawings and fabrication schedules.
- Maintain revision control and ensure manufacturing proceeds only against appropriately approved documents and clearances.

C. Procurement & Manufacturing Coordination

- Coordinate with tank fabricators for procurement of plates, structural materials, nozzles and accessories.
- Monitor tank fabrication, dish-end manufacturing, welding, assembly and manufacturing progress.
- Coordinate procurement of diffuser raw materials and fabrication with designated manufacturers.
- Ensure tank and diffuser manufacturing schedules are synchronised.
- Follow up with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure material availability and timely completion.
- Identify manufacturing bottlenecks and initiate corrective action.

D. Quality Assurance & Inspections

- Prepare and coordinate approval of Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and inspection documentation.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications and applicable manufacturing standards.
- Coordinate material inspections, dimensional checks, welding inspections, NDT and hydrostatic testing, as applicable.




- Arrange customer/third-party inspections and obtain manufacturing, inspection and dispatch clearances.
- Ensure non-conformities are rectified and quality documentation is completed.

E. Customer Coordination & Project Execution

- Act as the primary execution coordinator for customers, consultants, fabricators and internal teams.
- Obtain timely drawing approvals, manufacturing clearances and inspection permissions.
- Provide periodic progress reports and resolve execution-related issues.
- Coordinate logistics, dispatch documentation, transportation and site delivery.
- Coordinate installation, site inspections, commissioning and performance verification with the concerned teams.

F. Commercial & Contractual Coordination

- Track contractual payment milestones, including advances, manufacturing-stage payments, dispatch payments and final payments.
- Coordinate with customers and finance team for timely invoicing, certification and payment collection.
- Identify variations, additional requirements and scope changes, and obtain internal commercial approval before execution.
- Maintain project cost visibility and highlight potential cost overruns.
- Coordinate final documentation, commissioning certificates and project closure.

G. Project Monitoring & Reporting

- Maintain a live project tracker for all TES orders.
- Monitor planned versus actual progress.
- Prepare weekly project status reports identifying delays, risks, pending approvals and required decisions.
- Maintain complete project documentation, correspondence and approval records.
- Escalate critical issues before they affect delivery or commercial commitments.
