EXL Service Role: Senior Power BI Lead / Power BI Tech Lead

Location: Gurgaon & Bangalore Work Mode: 5 Days Office [Work From Office] POSITION SUMMARY We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Power BI Lead / Power BI Tech Lead who can drive client engagement, reporting strategy, dashboard development, and analytics delivery for enterprise-scale BI initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, Data Modeling, Power BI Copilot, and Business Analytics, along with proven experience in leading teams, managing stakeholders, and delivering impactful reporting solutions that enable data-driven decision-making. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Power BI Solution Delivery • Lead end-to-end delivery of Power BI reporting and analytics initiatives. • Gather business requirements directly from client stakeholders and translate them into scalable reporting solutions. • Design, develop, and maintain executive, operational, and analytical dashboards. • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of reports, dashboards, and semantic models. • Drive reporting standards, delivery governance, and best practices across projects. Dashboard Development & Analytics • Develop and optimize complex DAX calculations, measures, KPIs, and Power Query transformations. • Design scalable data models and semantic layers to support enterprise reporting requirements. • Integrate and consolidate data from multiple sources including SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and cloud platforms. • Ensure data quality, consistency, accuracy, and performance across reporting solutions. • Create intuitive,



user-friendly visualizations with a robust focus on UX/UI and business adoption. AI & Innovation • Leverage Power BI Copilot and AI-powered features including Smart Narratives, Q&A;, and AIassisted insights. • Drive the adoption of AI-enabled analytics capabilities within reporting solutions. • Identify opportunities for automation, self-service analytics, and enhanced reporting experiences. • Promote responsible AI practices and governance in Power BI implementations. Client & Stakeholder Management • Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and client teams. • Understand business challenges and proactively recommend data-driven solutions. • Present insights, trends, and recommendations through effective storytelling and visualization. • Drive stakeholder discussions, requirement workshops, and analytics initiatives independently. Team Leadership • Lead, mentor, and guide a team of 3-5 Power BI developers. • Provide technical oversight, code reviews, and troubleshooting support. • Allocate work, manage priorities, and remove delivery blockers. • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and high-quality delivery. REQUIRED SKILLS: EXL Service • 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Reporting. • Advanced expertise in Power BI development and administration. • Strong hands-on experience with:



o Power BI o DAX o Power Query (M) o Data Modeling o Semantic Models • Experience creating executive and operational dashboards. • Hands-on exposure to Power BI Copilot and AI-driven reporting capabilities. • Strong understanding of KPI design, business reporting, and data analysis. • Experience integrating data from SQL Server, SharePoint, Excel, APIs, Azure, Microsoft Fabric, or similar platforms. • Ability to independently manage stakeholders and drive requirements through delivery. • Experience leading and mentoring development teams. • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. GOOD TO HAVE: • Financial Services domain experience. • Azure Data Platform knowledge. • Exposure to Python, SQL performance tuning, or advanced analytics. • Experience establishing Power BI governance frameworks and best practices. • Understanding of Responsible AI and Copilot governance.
