We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support complex business and technology initiatives.

This is an on-site contract position based in Winnipeg, with working hours of Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Central Time.

Responsibilities

- Lead requirements-gathering sessions and stakeholder workshops, analyse and document current-state and future-state business processes, identify opportunities for process improvement and re-engineering, and develop detailed business requirements, functional specifications, use cases, and user stories.
- Develop business cases outlining costs, perks, and risks.
- Conduct impact analysis for proposed system and process changes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, management, consultants, and end users.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, translate complex technical concepts into clear, understandable language.
- Support testing and quality assurance activities, assist with end-user training, consolidate information for management decision-making, and provide guidance to junior Business Analysts as required.
- Mentor junior Business Analysts as required.

Requirements

- Minimum 10 years of experience working as a Business Analyst.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business process analysis and re-engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience writing business requirements, use cases, and user stories.




- Minimum 5 years of experience working on Agile projects.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Commerce, or an equivalent field.
- Strong political acumen and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong critical-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, consulting, and client relationship skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical and business concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to negotiate change and manage competing stakeholder requirements.
- Ability to identify and frame problems, gather information, and make timely, informed decisions.
- Experience facilitating requirements-gathering sessions and stakeholder workshops.
- Experience documenting current-state and future-state business processes and workflows.
- Experience developing business cases, functional specifications, and conducting impact analysis.
- Experience supporting testing, quality assurance, end-user training, and mentoring junior business analysts.

Qualifications

- IIBA accreditation and knowledge of BABOK are considered assets.
