Summary:
Lead major SAP ABAP Development for HANA workstreams and end-to-end technical assessments, define modernization and recovery options, and assure complex S/4HANA engineering delivery.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead diagnostics across classical ABAP, ABAP Objects, Open SQL, CDS, AMDP, interfaces, forms, enhancements, performance, testing, transports and operational readiness.
- Define and govern HANA-optimized development strategy using code pushdown, modern Open SQL, CDS views, AMDP where appropriate, and clean core extensibility patterns.
- Assess custom code portfolios using ATC and S/4HANA readiness findings establish remediation, simplification, decommissioning and technical-debt plans.
- Lead recovery option development covering scope, sequencing, phased remediation, resources, costs, timelines, risks and acceptance criteria.
- Assure SI designs, estimates, code quality, performance evidence, security checks, test traceability, transport controls and release readiness.
- Lead senior stakeholder workshops, architecture reviews, governance routines, RAG assessments and executive reporting.
- Lead SAP Generative AI and Joule for Developers adoption for code understanding, test generation, optimization, custom-code migration and knowledge creation, with governance and human validation.

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: SAP ABAP Development for HANA, classical ABAP, ABAP Objects, modern Open SQL, CDS views, AMDP, performance tuning and SAP S/4HANA custom-code adaptation.
- Good to have Skills: RAP, OData V2/V4, SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP BTP extensibility, SAP Integration Suite, SAP Cloud ALM and CI/CD.
- Strong knowledge of RICEFW objects, DDIC, reports, module pool, enhancements, BAdIs, SmartForms or Adobe Forms, IDoc, BAPI, RFC,



ALE, background jobs, locking and update tasks.
- Experience with code pushdown, CDS associations and annotations, DCL, analytical models, AMDP trade-offs, HANA SQL and performance analysis using ST05, SAT, SQL Monitor and runtime tools.
- Experience with ATC, SCI, CVA, Clean ABAP, secure coding, automated testing, transport governance and controlled exception management.
- Experience with SAP Generative AI capabilities, including SAP Business AI, SAP Generative AI Hub, prompt engineering, grounding, orchestration and responsible integration into SAP delivery.
- Knowledge of Joule for Developers, including code understanding, predictive code completion, ABAP Unit test generation, dependency analysis, code optimization and custom code migration assistance.
- Demonstrated experience in distressed programme or workstream diagnostics, stabilisation, turnaround planning, remediation governance and recovery execution, with evidence of improving delivery confidence, application stability, performance or go-live readiness.

AI and Digital Expectations:
- Use SAP Generative AI, Joule for Developers and other approved AI tools to analyse programme evidence, code, tests, incidents, delivery data and knowledge assets identify risks, dependencies, inconsistencies and improvement opportunities.
- Apply human validation, confidentiality, security, bias awareness, traceability and compliance with client and organisational policies to all AI-assisted outputs.
Leadership and Stakeholder Competencies:
- Communicate evidence-based technical findings clearly, facilitate accountable decisions and collaborate effectively across client, SI and multidisciplinary teams.
- Coach team members, take ownership of outcomes and escalate material risks with clear evidence.
Desirable Experience:
- Relevant SAP certifications in ABAP for SAP HANA,



SAP S/4HANA development, ABAP Cloud, SAP BTP, SAP Business AI or related technologies.
- Exposure to programme assurance, quality audits, commercial controls and multi-vendor systems-integration delivery.

Additional Information:
- Typically 15-18 years of relevant SAP ABAP and enterprise application delivery experience.
- A 15 years full-time education is required.
