A Mechanical Draughtsman is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, layouts, and manufacturing drawings for filling and packing machines. The role involves converting design concepts into accurate CAD drawings used for manufacturing, assembly, and installation.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Drafting
Prepare 2D and 3D mechanical drawings of filling and packing machines using CAD software.
Create assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, and part drawings.
Develop machine layout drawings and general arrangement (GA) drawings.
Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) for machine components.
Engineering Support
Work closely with design engineers and production teams to finalize machine designs.
Modify drawings according to engineering changes and customer requirements.
Ensure designs comply with manufacturing feasibility and standards.
Documentation
Maintain proper drawing records, revisions, and documentation control.
Prepare exploded views, installation drawings, and manuals support drawings.
Maintain digital drawing libraries and part numbering systems.
Coordination
Coordinate with fabrication, machining, and assembly departments.
Support procurement team by providing technical drawings for purchased parts.
Assist in troubleshooting during machine assembly or installation.
Required Skills
Proficiency in CAD software such as
AutoCAD
Solid Edge
Knowledge of mechanical components, fabrication, and machining processes
Understanding of tolerances, fits, and GD&T; basics
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Knowledge of packaging machine mechanisms (conveyors, filling systems, pneumatic systems)
Qualifications
Diploma Mechanical Engineering / ITI -Draftsman Mechanical
1–5 years’ experience in machinery manufacturing or packaging machines
Preferred Experience
Experience in liquid filling machines
Experience in pouch packing machines
Experience in bottle filling and labeling machines
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
