Job Responsibilities
Design and develop Special Purpose Machines (SPM) and automation equipment.
Create 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
Prepare machine layouts, assembly drawings and detailed component drawings.
Develop BOM (Bill of Materials) and support material selection.
Understand customer requirements and convert them into machine designs.
Coordinate with PLC, Electrical, Assembly and Production teams.
Modify designs based on machine trials and customer requirements.
Check dimensions, tolerances and manufacturability of components.
Support machine assembly, testing and commissioning.
Prepare and maintain design documentation.
Required Skills
SolidWorks – 3D modelling & 2D drawing
AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage.
Knowledge of SPM / Industrial Automation machine design.
Positive knowledge of mechanical components such as:
Bearings
Linear guides
Ball screws
Pneumatic cylinders
Gearboxes
Motors
Sensors
Knowledge of GD&T; and engineering drawings.
Positive problem-solving and coordination skills.
