Job Description

PROTEC is looking for a skilled and hands-on Mechanical Fitter to support machine maintenance, equipment installation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities at our taper roller manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform mechanical fitting, assembly, dismantling, and installation of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of production machines.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical faults in machines, bearings, gearboxes, shafts, couplings, and other mechanical components.
- Perform alignment of motors, shafts, pulleys, and couplings.
- Handle fitting tools, measuring instruments, and workshop equipment safely.
- Support machine overhauling, repair, and replacement of worn-out parts.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules and maintain maintenance records.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, 5S, and workplace housekeeping standards.




- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to minimize machine downtime.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- ITI in Fitter / Mechanical Trade preferred.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or automotive component industry.
- Practical knowledge of mechanical fitting, assembly, alignment, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and use measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance practices.
- Positive problem-solving skills and a safety-conscious approach.

Preferred Candidate

- Immediate joiners will be given preference.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in industrial machine maintenance will be preferred.
- Willingness to work in shifts, as required.
