We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Pharmacy Billing Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for billing medical claims accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations. As a Pharmacy Billing Associate, you will play a key role in supporting the organization’s financial operations and ensuring timely payment for services rendered to patients. Key Responsibilities:
- Prescription Billing: Process and submit medical claims for healthcare services, including prescription medications, medical supplies, and other services provided to patients.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for services, ensuring that all necessary information is provided to insurance providers.
- Coding and Documentation: Accurately assign appropriate codes (ICD-10) for services rendered, ensuring compliance with all billing and coding guidelines.
- Claim Follow-up: Track and follow up on unpaid or denied claims to ensure timely resolution,
including re-submitting claims and appealing denials when necessary.
- Compliance and Regulation: Ensure adherence to all federal and state regulations, including HIPAA, in the handling of patient and insurance data.
- Reporting: Prepare regular billing reports, track key performance metrics, and collaborate with management to improve processes and accuracy.
- Collaboration: Work closely with staff, insurance companies, and third-party payers to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure accurate payment processing.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical privacy practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle billing inquiries and issues efficiently.
