Job Description: Vice President – Retail BankingJob Summary

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Vice President – Retail Banking to lead retail banking operations, drive business growth, strengthen customer relationships, and maximize revenue and profitability across assigned regions or business segments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in retail banking, strategic business development, portfolio management, and leadership, with a proven ability to build high-performing teams and achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage retail banking business operations across assigned regions, branches, or customer segments.
- Develop and implement business strategies to drive customer acquisition, retention, revenue growth, and portfolio expansion.
- Drive business targets, profitability, and overall P&L; performance.
- Lead, mentor, and manage branch banking, sales, and relationship-management teams to achieve organizational objectives.
- Build and maintain solid relationships with high-value customers, HNI clients, and key business partners.
- Drive cross-selling of retail banking products, including loans, deposits, investments, insurance, and other financial services.
- Identify new business opportunities, assess market potential, and develop strategies to strengthen market presence.
- Monitor portfolio performance, sales productivity, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure effective risk management, regulatory compliance, and adherence to internal banking policies.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to execute strategic business initiatives.
- Prepare and present business reviews, performance dashboards, revenue reports, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements to identify opportunities for business growth.
- Ensure compliance with applicable RBI regulations, banking guidelines, and internal control standards.




- Establish performance benchmarks and implement initiatives to improve team productivity and business outcomes.

Candidate Requirements

- Graduate degree in any relevant discipline is required.
- MBA/PGDM in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, or Management is preferred.
- 10–18 years of relevant experience in retail banking or financial services.
- Proven experience in managing large teams, branch banking operations, and business development initiatives.
- Demonstrated track record of revenue generation, profitability improvement, and portfolio growth.
- Strong understanding of retail banking products, customer segments, and financial services.
- Experience in sales leadership, relationship management, customer acquisition, and cross-selling.
- Knowledge of banking risk management, regulatory requirements, and compliance procedures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Strong stakeholder-management, analytical, and strategic-planning capabilities.
- Experience with private-sector banks, NBFCs, or established financial institutions is preferred.
