- Supervise daily furnace and melting operations as per the production plan.
- Ensure correct charging of raw materials, scrap, ingots, and alloys according to specifications.
- Monitor furnace temperature, holding temperature, and pouring parameters.
- Ensure proper metal treatment, including degassing, fluxing, and alloy addition.
- Coordinate with die-casting, quality, maintenance, and stores departments for smooth production.
- Monitor metal recovery, melting losses, and furnace efficiency.
- Ensure timely availability of raw materials, crucibles, fluxes, and other consumables.
- Conduct first-pour verification and ensure molten metal meets quality standards.
- Maintain melting records, furnace logs, temperature records, and production reports.
- Identify process abnormalities and implement corrective actions.
- Supervise furnace operators and helpers and ensure proper shift handover.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and report furnace breakdowns immediately.
- Ensure compliance with PPE requirements, safety procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Implement 5S and continuous improvement initiatives in the melting area.
