Automotive Plastic Design Engineer

Salary: 8,00,000 to 18,00,000 INR per annum

About the role

Join a Japanese manufacturer of plastic components for the automotive industry. You’ll design interior and exterior parts, working with the India engineering team and collaborating directly with the Japan headquarters on projects for both the Indian and Japanese markets.

Responsibilities:

- Design automotive interior and exterior plastic components

- Create and modify 3D CAD models and engineering drawings

- Support structural analysis and design modifications

- Interpret technical specifications and design instructions from customers and Japan HQ, and turn them into product designs

- Support prototype development and design reviews

- Organize engineering and design data, and support quality improvement activities

- Report design progress to senior engineers and Japan HQ

- Coordinate technical matters with local suppliers and other stakeholders

Requirements





- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on plastic product design experience

- Practical 3D CAD experience (modelling, design modification, drawing preparation)

- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications

- Good professional English

- Japanese proficiency at JLPT N5-N4 or equivalent

- Willingness to work full-time from Gurgaon

- Proactive, eager to learn, comfortable working across Indian and Japanese teams

Preferred

- Automotive interior/exterior design experience, or experience with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers

- Basic knowledge of injection moulding and molds/tooling

- Experience with Japanese companies or familiarity with Japanese quality standards

- Japanese above N4 level
