Role Description The Old Age Home Incharge will oversee the daily operations of Sevalaya’s residential facility for older adults, ensuring a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all residents. This full-time, in office role, based in Tamil Nadu, India, includes supervising staff, coordinating caregiving schedules, and monitoring resident well-being, hygiene, nutrition, and medication routines in collaboration with healthcare providers. The role involves maintaining records, managing admissions and discharges, handling basic administrative tasks, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and local regulations. The Incharge will also plan and facilitate recreational and social activities, support emotional and psychosocial needs,



and act as a primary point of contact for families and visitors. Additional responsibilities include overseeing facility maintenance, coordinating with other Sevalaya programs, and reporting regularly to management on operations, challenges, and improvements. Qualifications
• Experience in caregiving or managing residential facilities for older adults, with strong understanding of elder care, safety, and dignity.
• Skills in staff supervision, team coordination, and basic administration, including record-keeping and reporting.
• Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately in English and local languages (such as Tamil), and to engage effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond calmly to emergencies and make sound decisions.
• Commitment to social service and alignment with Sevalaya’s values of “Love All, Serve All,” demonstrating empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity.
• Basic familiarity with healthcare coordination, including medication routines and liaison with medical professionals (prior experience in healthcare or social work is an advantage).
• Minimum educational qualification of a higher secondary certificate; a diploma or degree in social work, nursing, geriatric care, psychology, or related fields is preferred.
• Willingness to work full time on-site in Tamil Nadu, with flexibility for shift work or extended hours when needed.
