Role Description This full-time, on-site Research and Development Engineer role is based in Chennai and focuses on advancing drone technologies and related solutions. The R&D; Engineer will design, develop, and refine drone components and systems, working closely with cross-functional teams in product, engineering, and operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting technical research, prototyping current features, performing laboratory and field testing, analyzing performance data, and implementing improvements to enhance reliability, safety, and efficiency.



The role also involves collaborating on product roadmaps, documenting technical specifications, supporting certification and compliance activities, and contributing to scalable manufacturing processes. The R&D; Engineer will be expected to stay current with emerging technologies, standards, and regulations in drone and aerospace domains to inform innovation and continuous improvement. Qualifications
• Strong Research and Development (R&D;) and Research skills to explore new technologies, evaluate concepts, and generate data-driven insights.
• Product Development skills, including concept design, prototyping, iteration, and integration into scalable manufacturing processes.
• Analytical Skills and Testing experience to assess performance, identify issues, validate designs, and support quality and reliability improvements.
• Solid knowledge of aerospace, robotics, mechatronics, or related engineering disciplines, with experience in UAVs, drones, or embedded systems preferred.
• Proficiency with engineering tools and software (CAD, simulation tools, data analysis tools) and basic understanding of electronics and control systems.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electronics/Mechatronics, Robotics, or a closely related field.
• Ability to work hands-on in lab and field environments, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and communicate technical information clearly.
• Familiarity with relevant standards, safety practices, and regulatory guidelines
