Job Title: Fire Fighting (Mechanical) Project Estimation Engineer Department: Mechanical Tendering & Pre-Sales Reports To: Head of Fire Project Estimation / Tendering Manager Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The Fire Fighting (Mechanical) Project Estimation Engineer focuses strictly on the mechanical aspects of fire protection. You will evaluate tender documents, review architectural/MEP drawings, and develop accurate cost estimations for fluid-based and gas-based fire suppression systems. This role demands sharp attention to detail to build accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ), run complex hydraulic calculations, and ensure all bids comply perfectly with relevant safety codes.

Key Responsibilities
& Duties 1. Mechanical Material Take-Off & Costing
• Review engineering layouts to quantify piping networks, valves, fittings, and heavy equipment.
• Prepare comprehensive BOQs for fire hydrant systems, wet/dry sprinkler systems, and pre-action setups.
• Estimate structural requirements including pipe supports, hangers, seismic bracing, and anti-corrosive coatings.
• Factor in complex installation expenses such as hot work, structural welding, pipe threading, grooving, and testing/commissioning phases.
• Track steel and raw metal market indices to adjust pricing for piping materials dynamically. 2. Hydraulic Calculations & Design Validation
• Perform advanced hydraulic calculations using software like Elite Fire, SprinkCAD, or Pipenet.
• Size mechanical infrastructure accurately, including pipe diameters, fire pump capacities (GPM/Head), and water storage tank volumes.
• Validate heavy machinery placement, ensuring fire pump house configurations and diesel/electric pump assemblies meet hydraulic demands.

• Propose value engineering alternatives to reduce material weights or optimization of routing without failing pressure tests or safety margins 3. Special Suppression Systems Costing
• Design and cost gas suppression networks including FM-200, Novec 1230, Inergen, and CO₂ systems.
• Estimate clean agent requirements by calculating exact room volumes and leakage limits.
• Quantify specialized systems such as foam-water deluges for high-hazard zones and kitchen hood wet chemical suppression. 4. Tendering & Vendor Management
• Float detailed RFQs to pipe manufacturers, valve suppliers, and specialized pump vendors.
• Build technical compliance matrices to compare vendor offers against strict client specifications.
• Draft comprehensive technical submittals outlining system operational limits, pump curves, and material data sheets. Required Skills & Qualifications
•

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
•

Experience:
3 to 6 years of pure mechanical estimation experience within the fire protection industry.
• Regulatory Frameworks: Strong command over NFPA standards (NFPA 11, 13, 14, 15, 20, 24, and 2001) alongside local building codes or civil defence regulations.
• Software Toolkit: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (2D), MS Excel, Bluebeam, and Elite Fire / SprinkCAD. Experience reviewing Revit/BIM models is preferred.
• Hardware & Component Mastery: In-depth knowledge of seamless/ERW piping, groove/thread fittings, deluge valves, pressure reducing valves (PRVs), backflow preventers, and diesel/electric fire pump controllers. Salary Package: 6 to 5 LPA

Benefits:
24 Paid Leaves. (start after probation
- Monthly 2 leave) Health Insurance. (start after probation) 12 to 13 days National Holidays.
