Key responsibilities
Integration architecture and strategy
• Define the target integration architecture linking Veeva Vault (Clinical Operations, eTMF, CTMS, Study Startup, QualityDocs, RIM) with Snowflake and downstream systems.
• Set integration standards: API-first patterns, event-driven and batch designs, error handling, monitoring and reusable components.
• Maintain the integration roadmap in partnership with Clinical Operations, Data Management, Biostatistics, Regulatory and Quality.
• Veeva Vault and Snowflake delivery
• Lead build of pipelines from Veeva Vault to Snowflake using Vault REST APIs, Vault Loader, Direct Data API, Vault Java SDK and Spark messaging.
• Model clinical operations data in Snowflake (raw, curated and consumption layers) using Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, dbt and secure data sharing.
• Integrate CROs, EDC (e.g. Medidata Rave, Veeva CDMS), IRT/RTSM, safety and finance systems with Vault and Snowflake.
• Keep pipelines in step with Veeva's three general releases per year through regression testing and release impact reviews. AI-driven integration automation for CTMS
• Design and deploy AI and LLM solutions that automate CTMS data flows: document classification and metadata extraction for eTMF, site and milestone data mapping, and CRO data reconciliation.
• Build AI agents and workflows (e.g.



Snowflake Cortex, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Veeva AI) that detect data anomalies, propose mappings and generate integration code and tests.
• Put human-in-the-loop review, model validation and performance monitoring in place so AI outputs stay accurate and auditable.
• Compliance and quality
• Deliver integrations under GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11 and GAMP 5, including validation documentation (URS, FS, IQ/OQ/PQ, traceability).
• Apply data integrity (ALCOA+), GDPR and HIPAA controls, including access management and audit trails.
• Follow a risk-based approach to validating AI components in line with emerging FDA and EMA guidance.
• Leadership and stakeholder management
• Lead internal engineers and external partners (system integrators, Veeva Services, CROs); review designs and code.
• Translate business needs from clinical and quality teams into technical requirements and delivery plans.
• Report on integration health, costs, risks and benefits to IT and business leadership. Required qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Life Sciences or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in enterprise integration or data engineering, with 5+ years in pharma, biotech or CRO environments.
• 3+ years leading Veeva Vault integrations (Clinical Operations suite, ideally CTMS and eTMF), including Vault APIs, Vault Loader and Direct Data API.
• 3+ years building on Snowflake: data modelling, Snowpipe, Streams and Tasks, performance tuning, security and cost management.
• Hands-on delivery of AI or machine learning automation in production integration workflows, preferably for CTMS or clinical operations data.
• Solid skills in Python and SQL; working knowledge of Java or JavaScript for Vault SDK and middleware.




• Experience with an integration platform such as MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica or Azure Integration Services, and with orchestration tools such as Airflow or dbt.
• Working knowledge of clinical trial processes, study lifecycle and data standards (CDISC, TMF Reference Model).
• Delivered validated systems under GxP, 21 CFR Part 11 and GAMP 5.
• Proven technical leadership of engineers and vendors, with clear communication to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred qualifications
• Veeva Vault certifications (e.g. Vault Platform Administrator, Clinical Operations) and SnowPro Core or Advanced certification.
• Experience with Snowflake Cortex AI, Document AI or Snowpark for in-platform machine learning.
• Built AI agents or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions over clinical documents or TMF content.
• Experience migrating from a legacy CTMS (e.g. Medidata, Oracle Siebel) to Veeva Vault CTMS.
• Background in oncology or cell and gene therapy trials, or in a commercial-stage biotech.
• Familiarity with FDA and EMA guidance on AI in drug development, and with the EU AI Act. Experience working across UK and US teams and with global CRO partners
