• AI-assisted development About Tavasyam Tavasyam is a health-tech startup building technology-driven solutions to make health, fitness, and well-being more accessible and sustainable. We are looking for a senior engineer who can turn product requirements into reliable applications and take ownership from technical design through release and ongoing maintenance. The role You will build and improve our mobile app, web interfaces, backend services, and databases. You will make practical architecture decisions, work independently, and communicate technical trade-offs clearly. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for writing, reviewing, testing, and shipping code, and guiding other contributors when needed. Primary technical focus: Flutter mobile development and Java Spring Boot backend engineering, supported by SQL database proficiency. Working knowledge of React.js is expected for maintaining and extending web interfaces. What you will do ● Build and maintain Flutter applications for Android and iOS and React.js web interfaces, with attention to usability, accessibility, performance, and reusable components. ● Develop Java Spring Boot services and REST APIs; design SQL schemas and optimise queries; integrate authentication, payments, and third-party services. ● Own technical design and architecture decisions. Explain trade-offs, manage technical debt, and choose solutions appropriate to the product’s stage and needs. ● Take features from requirements through implementation, automated testing, deployment, and monitoring. Establish reliable CI/CD, release, and rollback practices. ● Investigate production issues, improve logging and error handling, and address reliability and performance problems. Mobile store release ownership. ● Protect sensitive user data through appropriate access controls, secure data handling, and secrets management.



Use only approved data and tools in AI-assisted development workflows. ● Review code, maintain useful documentation, and guide internal or external contributors. Work with product stakeholders to clarify requirements, prioritise work, and communicate delivery risks. ● Use AI coding assistants such as Claude Code to support development, debugging, testing, and documentation. Review and validate generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability. Minimum requirements ● 3 to 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including independently delivering and maintaining production applications. ● Strong hands-on Flutter experience, including building and maintaining production Android and iOS applications, integrating APIs, managing application state, and troubleshooting performance issues. ● Strong hands-on Java and Spring Boot experience, including designing and maintaining backend services and REST APIs, implementing business logic and authentication, and diagnosing production issues. ● Proficiency in SQL, including relational database design, schema changes, query optimisation, and reliable data access from backend services. ● Working knowledge of React.js, including building or modifying components, integrating backend APIs, and maintaining responsive web interfaces. ● Experience designing and integrating REST APIs, working with SQL databases, and implementing authentication and authorisation. ● Sound engineering judgement: you can explain architecture choices, assess trade-offs, debug complex issues, and balance delivery speed with maintainability. ● Experience with Git, code reviews,



automated testing, CI/CD, and production deployments, including monitoring and troubleshooting after release. ● Ability to break down ambiguous requirements, estimate work, agree priorities, and communicate progress and risks with limited technical supervision. ● Practical use of AI coding assistants, with the ability to critically review generated code and demonstrate how you verify its quality. Useful additional experience ● Depth across the full Tavasyam stack: Flutter, React.js, Java Spring Boot, and SQL. ● Publishing and maintaining apps on the App Store and Google Play; cloud infrastructure and containerised deployments. ● Mentoring engineers or coordinating a small team or external development partners. ● Building repeatable AI-assisted or agent-based development workflows, including with Claude Code. ● Working on health, fitness, subscription, or other products handling sensitive user data. Initial priorities During your first 5 days, we expect you to understand the product and codebase, take ownership of an agreed release, and deliver a priority feature end to end. You will also identify the most key technical risks and implement agreed improvements to testing, deployment, or monitoring. Specific outcomes will be agreed based on the current product priorities.
