About the Role
Senior Engineer – Mechanical (Procurement) We are hiring a Senior Engineer – Mechanical to own technical procurement of rotating equipment, process machinery and handling equipment for our turnkey wastewater treatment projects, from enquiry through commissioning. The role sits between process design, vendors and site. You will turn process and design inputs into clear equipment specifications, evaluate offers, and drive orders through approval, inspection, dispatch, delivery and commissioning. Responsibilities

Key responsibilities
Technical study and specifications
• Study tender documents, process flow diagrams, P&IDs;, hydraulic calculations and equipment lists to define the mechanical scope.
• Derive design parameters — flow, head, pressure, air requirement, load, duty cycle — for each equipment item with the process team.
• Prepare technical specifications and data sheets for pumps, blowers, gearboxes, motors, cranes and hoists, mixers, clarifier mechanisms, screens, valves and piping items. Procurement
• Float enquiries, identify and develop vendors, and obtain techno-commercial offers.
• Prepare technical comparison statements (TBE/TQ), checking performance curves, power consumption, materials of construction and guarantees.
• Support commercial negotiation and issue purchase recommendations within project budget and schedule.
• Ensure compliance with client-approved vendor lists, IS/ISO/API standards and project specifications. Approvals and coordination
• Review vendor documents — GA drawings, cross-sections,



performance curves, foundation loads, QAP — and coordinate approval with design team, consultant and client.
• Coordinate stage inspections and performance tests (pump and blower tests, crane load tests) at vendor works.
• Expedite manufacturing, track dispatch clearance and delivery to site, and resolve shortages or damages.
• Support site teams during erection, alignment, trial runs and commissioning, including vendor service visits.
• Maintain procurement trackers, document registers and handover documents (O&M; manuals, spares lists, warranties). Technical knowledge required
• Pumps: centrifugal, submersible, screw and dosing pumps; flow, head, NPSH, efficiency, duty point on curves, solids handling and MOC selection.
• Blowers: twin/tri-lobe and turbo blowers for aeration; air requirement, discharge pressure, power and noise considerations.
• Gears and drives: gearbox selection by torque, ratio and service factor; couplings, bearings and drive arrangements for clarifiers, mixers and thickeners.
• Cranes and hoists: EOT cranes, monorails and chain/wire-rope hoists; SWL, span, lift, duty class (IS 3177 / IS 807).
• Motors: selection by power, speed,



enclosure and efficiency class, in coordination with the electrical team.
• Other WWTP equipment: screens, grit removal, mixers, diffusers, sludge dewatering (screw press, centrifuge, filter press), valves and gates.
• Standards and tools: relevant IS/ISO/API/AWWA standards; ability to read AutoCAD drawings; MS Excel; ERP/SAP procurement modules preferred. Required Skills
• Experience coordinating orders end to end — approvals, inspection, dispatch, delivery and commissioning.
• Personal attributes Transparent written and verbal communication with vendors, consultants and clients.
• Strong follow-up discipline and ability to handle multiple projects to deadline.
• Willingness to travel to vendor works and project sites as required. Preferred Skills
• Preferred Experience in an EPC company on turnkey projects in wastewater, water treatment, STP/ETP or allied process industries.
• Established vendor network for pumps, blowers, gearboxes and material-handling equipment in India.
• Exposure to municipal or industrial client documentation and third-party inspection. Qualifications Qualifications and experience Must have

Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4–7 years of total experience, including hands-on procurement and technical evaluation of mechanical equipment.
• Experience coordinating orders end to end — approvals, inspection, dispatch, delivery and commissioning.
