Better Works HR is looking for a full-time accountant. This is an on-site position based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The role involves managing day-to-day accounting operations, including recording journal entries, maintaining general ledgers, reconciling bank and account statements, and assisting with monthly and annual closing activities. The Accountant will prepare financial reports, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. The individual will collaborate with HR and payroll teams to ensure accurate processing of employee-related expenses and benefits, and respond to internal and external inquiries about financial data. The role also includes supporting audits, improving accounting processes, and using accounting software and spreadsheets to maintain accurate and timely financial records. Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger management, and financial reporting.




• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and proficiency in Excel and other spreadsheet tools.
• Understanding of Indian taxation, compliance requirements, and statutory filings relevant to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with HR, payroll, and other internal stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; skilled certifications (CA, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
• Prior experience in corporate accounting, HR-related accounting, or payroll accounting is preferred.
