About the Role
GoerOne is launching a premium membership ecosystem in Manipur. The Area Manager owns day-to-day sales execution across all three tiers and turns a small team, institutional partnerships and a variable field force into a repeatable sales engine. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will run daily sales operations, personally close high-value relationships and build the systems that let the team scale without proportional headcount growth. As the business matures, this role can grow into the dedicated Sales Head position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales execution and revenue
• Own paid-membership targets across multiple tiers, with day 30, 60 and 90 milestones.
• Run the daily sales rhythm: the 10-15 minute morning huddle, lead allocation, route planning and EOD review.
• Manage sales funnel (named prospects, qualified, meeting, formal invitation, paid, activated, first benefit used). Support the Business Head on the top 100 prospects and personally manage the next 300 alongside the existing members Relationship Executive.
• Drive sales through invitation journeys, professional and family segments, and referrals.
• Drive volume sales through channels, events and merchant-led acquisition, with automation where possible. 2. Channel and field sales
• Build and manage the institutional pipeline (corporates, PSUs, hospitals, colleges, associations, clubs) and run institutional outreach and targeted group sessions.
• Plan and execute sponsored events, activation days and individual outreach campaigns.
• Recruit, train and manage variable promoters on a commission model. Scale from 10-15 to 20-30 only when the economics work.
• Operationalise merchant-led acquisition with the Merchant Partnerships Lead: counter QRs, staff scripts, member days and incentives paid only after paid and activated conversions. 3. Team leadership
• Lead Inside Sales on warm-lead follow-up, conversion and first-use prompts.
• Coach the team on the approved sale pitches and on objection handling,
and keep scripts and FAQs current.
• Enforce discipline: routes logged before departure, CRM updated, EOD reports submitted and zero tolerance for fake visits or data. 4. Pipeline and CRM hygiene
• Ensure every lead has an owner, a next action and a probability, and keep lead ageing within SLA.
• Maintain source-to-payment-to-activation tracking with Marketing, and keep referral attribution accurate. 5. Cross-functional collaboration
• Marketing and Growth: give feedback on lead quality and campaign performance, and align on events and launches.
• Merchant team: feed back on merchant demand and offer relevance, and coordinate Member Days and co-branded campaigns.
• Customer Operations and CX: hand over smoothly for activation and onboarding, and resolve conversion and activation blockers together.
• Business Head: share the sales view of pricing, offers, objections and market response. 6. Reporting
• Weekly: sales vs plan, funnel conversion, channel performance, lead ageing and promoter productivity.
• Monthly: revenue and paid memberships vs target, CAC by channel, team productivity and a hiring and promoter review.
• Quarterly: channel economics and recommendations on scaling or stopping.
• Consolidate team inputs into the single Business Head dashboard. Key Performance Indicators Performance is judged on business outcomes, not activity. KPI What it measures Paid memberships vs plan Core revenue delivery (by tier) Lead-to-paid conversion Funnel quality and sales effectiveness Sales productivity per person Output per team member and promoter Channel and field performance Returns by institution,
event and referral Lead ageing Speed of follow-up Institutional sales Pipeline value and closures Activation and first-use rate Quality of sales, with a target of 85%+ first use within 30 days CAC vs ceiling Cost discipline per channel Required Qualifications and Experience
• 5-8 years in field sales, business development or channel sales, with at least 1-2 years leading a team.
• Proven results selling a high-involvement, relationship-led product. Examples are premium memberships, financial products, hospitality, real estate, education, healthcare services, insurance or luxury and lifestyle offerings.
• Experience with institutional and B2B2C sales (corporates, associations, communities).
• Strong understanding of the Manipur market, networks and decision-makers. Local relationships are a major advantage.
• Comfortable selling to HNI and senior professionals, and equally able to manage volume sales.
• Fluent in English, Hindi and Meiteilon (other regional languages are a plus).
• Graduate degree required. MBA preferred but not mandatory. Skills and Attributes
• Target-driven, with ownership of numbers and a bias for action.
• Disciplined about CRM and reporting, with a habit of reporting exceptions and outcomes, not essays.
• Credible with senior clients and able to coach junior sellers.
• Able to think in funnels, unit economics and CAC, not just top-line sales.
• Integrity: will not hide a weak proposition behind aggressive selling.
• Comfortable in a lean startup where roles are broad and processes are still being built.
• Working knowledge of CRM tools, WhatsApp-based selling and basic dashboards.
What We Offer
• Direct access to the Business Head and strategic decisions.
• A founding-team role in a high-growth launch.
• Performance variable linked to paid, activated memberships.
• A explicit growth path as the organisation scales
