The role exists to own availability confirmation and backorder processing, the mechanism determining how constrained supply is allocated between customers. Delivery quality is personal at this level. Performance is assessed on configuration that holds under integration test, on defect recurrence, and on documentation complete enough for another engineer to assume ownership. Responsibilities:
Scope & Decision Rights: Execute within an approved design. You determine how a configuration item is built, tested and documented design changes, scope calls and estimates are escalated to the workstream lead. Availability Check Configuration: Configure product availability check, checking rules, scope of check and check instructions across the order and delivery process. Backorder Processing: Configure backorder processing segments, strategies and confirmation policies, and own the performance and outcome of mass BOP runs. Allocation & Confirmation Strategy: Configure product allocation and, where in scope, alternative-based confirmation and supply assignment so that confirmation reflects commercial priority rather than order sequence. Release for Delivery: Set up and support release for delivery and the exception handling around constrained supply situations. Integration & Dependencies: Work with Order Management for confirmation behaviour, with Production Planning and Inventory for supply visibility, and with EWM and TM for the fulfilment consequences of a confirmation. Delivery Execution & Quality: Deliver assigned configuration, build and test items against sprint commitments, with configuration rationale, unit test evidence and cutover steps documented to handover standard. Defect Diagnosis & Resolution: Investigate defects and incidents affecting confirmation behaviour collapsing under shortage, or BOP runtimes breaching the overnight window, isolating root cause across configuration,



master data and interface layers and confirming resolution through regression. AI-Assisted Engineering & Joule: Apply AI assistants to analyse check configuration, generate availability scenario test cases and interpret BOP result logs, validating every generated output against system behaviour before transport. Use SAP Joule for Consultants for configuration guidance and troubleshooting, and flag manual steps in the module that are candidates for a Joule agent. Knowledge Transfer: Document reusable configuration patterns, support analysts joining the workstream, and escalate blockers promptly. Collaboration: Work with functional leads, test teams and downstream modules, reporting item status in terms of delivery impact. Professional & Technical

Must-Have Skills Advanced ATP in S/4HANA: Hands-on configuration of aATP: product availability check, backorder processing, product allocation and release for delivery. Check Configuration: Working expertise in checking rules, scope of check, check instructions and requirement class or type determination. BOP Design & Performance: Practical experience designing BOP segments and strategies and tuning mass runs for runtime at production volume. Supply Visibility: Working knowledge of how MRP, production and inventory data feed the availability picture. Commercial Prioritisation: Capability to translate commercial allocation policy into configuration that behaves predictably under shortage. AI-Assisted Delivery: Evidenced use of AI coding and analysis assistants in live SAP delivery, demonstrable through the specific outputs produced and the validation applied. SAP Joule for Consultants: Working use of SAP Joule for Consultants in configuration and troubleshooting, including verification of the guidance returned against actual system behaviour. Where prior Joule exposure is absent, working proficiency is expected within 90 days of joining. Evidence of AI Adoption: Demonstrable adoption of AI in delivery work. This may be evidenced through use of AI coding or analysis assistants, or through equivalent contribution such as reusable accelerators, scripted automation of recurring delivery tasks, or codified patterns adopted by others. Delivery Discipline: Record of meeting sprint commitments on an enterprise SAP programme, with defect and rework rates that withstood review.



Ownership & Communication: Capable of working an ambiguous defect to root cause independently and of stating clearly when a committed date is at risk.
