Project Role : Business Architect Project Role Description : Identify opportunities to deliver tangible business value by assessing the current state, capturing high-level requirements, and defining business solutions. Translate business needs into technology-enabled solutions and operating models. Support transformation by developing business cases and guiding implementation of key initiatives. Must have
skills:
SAP Ariba Valuable to have
skills:
NA Minimum 15 year(s) of experience is required Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education Summary: As an SAP Ariba Supplier Management Business Architect, you will hold design authority and delivery accountability for the process area, leading multiple workstreams through their Managers while remaining personally hands-on on the hardest design and configuration for Supplier Management within the Procurement tower of the DRS SAP programme. The role exists to design supplier lifecycle and performance management on SAP Ariba and its integration to the SAP backend, so that onboarding, qualification and risk controls govern downstream buying. You carry delivery risk for the process area and are expected to enter a drifting workstream, establish an evidenced position and reset the plan. You remain hands-on: the most difficult design and configuration work is yours, as is the review gate before work leaves the process area. Quality, defect trend and release readiness sit with you, together with the AI standard and the technical development of the Managers you lead. Technical development is your responsibility, hold the client leadership relationship for the process area, and remain close enough to the detail to test the evidence behind a status report. Roles &
Responsibilities:
Scope & Decision Rights: Hold design authority for the process area and remain hands-on. The hardest design calls are taken by you personally, and you prove the pattern before the team builds to it. You approve decisions that carry downstream cost, hold the review gate on work leaving the process area, set the quality gates Managers deliver to, and own the delivery risk position reported to programme governance. Supplier Lifecycle Design: Design and configure Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance: registration, qualification, segmentation, modular questionnaires, approval flows and supplier status governance. Supplier Risk & Compliance: Design the supplier risk and compliance controls that determine whether a supplier can be transacted with, and make those controls enforceable in the downstream buying process. Ariba to S/4HANA Integration: Own the integration design through Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway, including supplier replication to the SAP vendor master, field mapping, error handling and reconciliation. Process Architecture & Fit-to-Standard: Lead fit-to-standard discussions, challenge requirements that push the solution off standard, and document the decisions and their consequences. Integration & Dependencies: Work with the MM Purchasing team for downstream buying controls, with Master Data for vendor master governance, and with Finance for the payment-relevant supplier attributes. Solution & Delivery Governance: Own solution design and delivery quality across the process area: set the design standards, approve decisions carrying downstream cost, and hold accountability for delivery risk, defect trend and release readiness across workstreams. Delivery Recovery Leadership:
Lead recovery of stressed workstreams, including supplier replication failures or qualification controls being bypassed in the live buying process: establish an evidenced position, re-plan, reallocate, remove the structural cause and report a defensible trajectory to programme leadership. AI-Native Delivery Standards & Joule Governance: Define how AI is applied across the process area, including AI-assisted process design validation, supplier risk signal analysis and integration exception analytics govern the accelerator library, set validation and IP controls, and report productivity and quality outcomes. Set the standard for SAP Joule for Consultants use and the governance of its grounding content, and decide where a Joule agent is warranted against standard configuration, holding the specification and acceptance standard with the AI and AIDLC tower. Mentoring & Capability Building: Develop the Managers who lead the workstreams: run design reviews as teaching, pair on configuration they have not done before, and codify the resulting patterns so the capability outlives the individual. Set the technical standard across the process area and own succession for its scarce skills. Executive & Client Engagement: Represent the process area in client leadership and programme governance forums, defend design decisions, and negotiate scope and timeline against capacity. Professional & Technical
Skills:
Must-Have Skills Ariba SLP: Design authority over Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance, including registration, qualification, segmentation and modular questionnaires. Ariba Integration: Extensive experience with Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway and supplier data replication to SAP vendor master, including error handling. Supplier Master Governance: Expert-level expertise in vendor master data structure, duplicate control and the governance model around supplier creation. Process Architecture: Proven capability to capture requirements, define the target process and produce a defensible solution design rather than a configuration inventory. Business Case & Stakeholder Work: Extensive experience translating procurement business needs into solution and operating model decisions with clear impact statements. Hands-On Technical Depth: Current, hands-on command of the primary skill. This is a working design authority role, not an oversight role: the hardest configuration in the process area is expected to be done by the post-holder. Hands-On Currency: Hands-on configuration or design-level build work on the primary skill within the last 24 months. Advisory, pre-sales, governance or oversight-only experience during that period does not satisfy this requirement. Where recent experience is advisory, a technical validation forms part of selection. Technical Mentoring & Capability Building: Demonstrated development of Managers and senior engineers through design review, pairing and codified patterns, evidenced by capability the team retained rather than output the individual delivered. AI-Enabled Delivery Leadership:
Demonstrated definition of AI standards across an SAP delivery team or tower, including validation controls, accelerator ownership and measured productivity outcomes. Evidence of AI Adoption: Demonstrable record of raising delivery productivity through AI or equivalent means: AI assistant adoption, delivery accelerators, reference architectures or codified playbooks built for reuse across teams, with measurable effect on throughput or quality. Multi-Workstream Delivery & Recovery: Demonstrated leadership across multiple SAP workstreams, including at least one engagement behind plan or under quality pressure, with personal accountability for the recovery. Executive Stakeholder Management: Credible in client leadership forums, with demonstrated capability to make and defend design and delivery decisions under incomplete information and commercial pressure. Good to Have Skills Ariba Sourcing, Contracts, Buying & Invoicing SAP Business Network and trading relationship management SAP Fieldglass for contingent labour Ariba APIs and extensibility Additional Information: A 15-year full-time education is required, as stated in the approved demand record. Minimum 15 years of experience on the primary skill, as specified in the approved demand record. Hands-on configuration or design-level build work on the primary skill within the last 24 months. Solution and delivery leadership across multiple full lifecycle SAP programmes, including at least one recovery or high-pressure delivery situation. Evidenced record of setting AI-enabled or equivalent delivery productivity standards for a team or tower. 15 years full time education About Accenture Accenture is a leading global professional services company that helps the world’s leading businesses, governments and other organizations build their digital core, optimize their operations, accelerate revenue growth and enhance citizen services—creating tangible value at speed and scale.
