- Support day-to-day monitoring and control of surface treatment processes such as cleaning, chemical treatment, anodizing, plating, conversion coating, etc.
- Monitor process parameters including chemical concentration, pH, temperature, time and bath conditions.
- Identify process deviations and support corrective actions in coordination with Production and Quality teams.
- Support process troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.
2. Process Development
- Support development and validation of new surface treatment processes and process parameters.
- Conduct trials and experiments for process optimization and improvement.
- Assist in evaluation of recent chemicals, process methods and technologies.
- Support implementation of process changes in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.
3. Chemical Analysis
- Conduct routine chemical analysis of process baths as per defined frequency and methods.
- Prepare and standardize laboratory solutions required for analysis.
- Maintain chemical analysis records and ensure accuracy and traceability of test results.
- Monitor trends in chemical parameters and highlight abnormalities for timely action.
- Ensure safe handling, storage and disposal of chemicals as per EHS requirements.
4. Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and maintain process records,
chemical analysis reports, work instructions and process-related documentation.
- Support preparation and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process sheets and control plans.
- Maintain records required for internal, customer and regulatory audits.
- Ensure documentation is maintained in line with applicable aerospace quality requirements and company procedures.
5. Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with Quality, Production and Engineering teams to resolve process-related issues.
- Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
- Participate in Kaizen, process improvement and productivity initiatives.
- Support process capability, data analysis and trend monitoring activities.
Preferred candidate profile :
- Strong fundamentals of Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Chemical Reactions.
- Understanding of chemical analysis techniques and laboratory practices.
- Basic knowledge of surface treatment processes will be an advantage.
- Analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Good documentation and report-writing skills.
- BE Chemical / MSc Chemistry / BSc Chemistry
Chemical Engineer with 2 years experience OR M.Sc. Chemistry with 3 years’ experience OR BSc Chemistry with 5 years’ experience.
