Job Description: Head - Mechanical System

Pioneering a new category of Crossover Utility Vehicles (CUVs), engineered from the ground up to be strong, capable and purpose-built around the evolving needs of customers.
Key Accountabilities/Duties & Responsibilities
1) Design and Development: - Lead the design and development of mechanical components for electric vehicles. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical engineering, software engineering, etc.) to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly.
2) Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
3) Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other department heads (such as electrical engineering, software engineering, manufacturing, and design) to ensure seamless integration of all components.
4) Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute to overall product development strategy.
5) Regulatory Compliance: - Ensure that mechanical systems comply with relevant safety and environmental regulations.
6) Stay informed about changes in regulations and work to ensure the company's compliance.
7) Supplier Management: - Collaborate with suppliers for the sourcing of mechanical components.
8) Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
9) Negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of components.
10) Project Management: - Oversee and manage the mechanical engineering projects related to electric vehicles.
11) Develop project timelines, milestones, and budgets.
12) Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget constraints.
13) Cost Management: - Work closely with the finance team to manage and optimize the budget for mechanical engineering projects.

Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
15) Quality Control and Testing: - Establish and implement quality control processes for mechanical components.
16) Coordinate testing and validation of mechanical systems to ensure reliability and performance.
17) Address and resolve issues identified during testing phases.
18) Team Leadership: - Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, designers, and technicians. Foster a collaborative and creative team culture. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
