Job Overview
We are looking for a strong backend engineer with 5–7 years of experience in designing and
building high-performance, scalable and distributed backend systems using Java and/or
Scala.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working on large-scale backend
applications, microservices, event-driven architectures and high-volume data/transaction
processing systems.
Candidates from FinTech / Investment Banking, Big Tech / Product Companies, Ecommerce / Logistics, or Healthcare Technology are highly preferred.
This role requires strong engineering fundamentals, the ability to solve complex backend
problems, and experience building systems that operate at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain high-performance backend services using Java and/or
Scala.
Build scalable, resilient and fault-tolerant distributed systems capable of handling
high transaction volumes.
Develop and maintain REST/gRPC APIs, microservices and event-driven services.
Work extensively with Kafka or similar messaging/event-streaming platforms.
Design efficient data models and work with relational and NoSQL databases.
Implement concurrency, multithreading and asynchronous processing for performance critical workloads.
Identify and resolve performance, scalability, reliability and latency issues.
Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
Develop systems with appropriate caching, retry, timeout, circuit breaker and fault tolerance mechanisms.
Write clean, maintainable, testable and production-quality code.
Work with DevOps/platform teams to deploy and operate services in cloud
environments.
Contribute to observability through logging, metrics, tracing and monitoring.




Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
Collaborate with product, architecture and engineering teams to deliver complex backend
capabilities.
