Role & responsibilities

- Qualification: MBBS with MS/MD/DNB in Ophthalmology.
- Experience: Relevant experience in ophthalmology; fresh postgraduates may also be considered based on hospital requirements.
- Registration: Valid registration with the State Medical Council/National Medical Commission, as applicable.
- Skills Required: Clinical assessment, diagnostic skills, patient counselling, and management of ophthalmic conditions.
- Key Competencies: Positive communication, clinical decision-making, patient care, and teamwork.

Preferred candidate profile

- Examine patients, diagnose eye conditions, and provide appropriate medical and surgical treatment.
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and assess visual acuity and ocular health.
- Diagnose and manage conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, refractive errors, and other eye disorders.
- Prescribe medications, corrective lenses,



and other treatments as clinically indicated.
- Perform ophthalmic procedures and surgeries as per qualification, expertise, and hospital privileges.
- Refer patients for specialised investigations or advanced treatment whenever required.
- Provide patient and family counselling regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and preventive eye care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, clinical documentation, and treatment plans.
- Coordinate with other departments and healthcare professionals for integrated patient care.
- Adhere to hospital policies, infection control protocols, medical ethics, and patient safety standards.
