Role Overview

Lead the end-to-end technical architecture, system design and product delivery for next-generation commercial mixer-amplifiers, high-power concert and venue amplifiers, and networked loudspeaker management hardware. The role carries full ownership of product realisation from concept and architecture definition through design, certification and transfer to mass production, along with technical leadership of a multi-disciplinary R&D; team.

Key Responsibilities

Product Architecture and System Design

- Own the system architecture for commercial mixer-amplifiers, high-power venue amplifiers and networked loudspeaker management processors, from concept definition through production release.
- Architect embedded audio hardware platforms built on MCU, MPU, wireless SoC, FPGA, mixed-signal and HDI PCB technologies, and select the platform for each product tier.
- Define system partitioning across hardware, firmware, DSP and mechanical domains, and freeze interface contracts between them before detailed design begins.
- Review and approve schematics, layouts, firmware architecture and mechanical concepts at each design gate.

Power Electronics, Signal and Thermal Integrity

- Oversee power electronics design including high-efficiency Class-D output stages, DC-DC and AC-DC power supply topologies, and MOSFET and IGBT switching design.
- Drive Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI) and Thermal Integrity (TI) analysis across high-power, high-density board designs.
- Set the grounding, shielding and noise-mitigation architecture for products combining high-voltage switching stages with low-noise analog audio paths.
- Govern derating,



protection and reliability margins for continuous high-power operation.

Acoustic and Electroacoustic System Architecture

- Define electroacoustic system architecture including transducer matching and impedance curve modeling across the product range.
- Own the specification of dynamic speaker protection algorithms covering thermal, excursion and clipping limits.
- Align amplifier output stages, DSP processing chains and loudspeaker loading into a coherent, validated system.

AV Networking and Industrial Domain

- Direct the design of cloud-connected AV gateways, network audio protocol stacks (Dante, AES67, AVB) and smart voice and speaker systems.
- Own architecture for EN54 and fire-safety emergency public address interfaces, including supervision and fault-monitoring requirements.
- Define clock and synchronisation architecture using Precision Time Protocol (IEEE 1588 PTP) and AES67 synchronisation.
- Guide ultra-low-latency wireless audio streaming implementations (WiSA and proprietary 2.4 / 5 GHz links).

Program Management, Compliance and Team Leadership

- Drive product lifecycle management using Jira, Kanban boards and Gantt-based schedules; own R&D; milestones, risk registers and release readiness.




- Lead compliance and certification programmes covering CE, IEC 61000, FCC, IPxx ingress protection and shock and vibration standards, including lab coordination and closure of non-conformances.
- Build, mentor and appraise the engineering team; run design reviews, set technical standards and grow domain depth across the group.
- Manage component selection strategy, obsolescence planning, cost targets and vendor and contract-manufacturer technical relationships.

Must-Have Skills and Experience

- 12 - 15 years in electronic product design, with demonstrable ownership of at least two products taken from architecture to volume production.
- Deep, hands-on background in qualified or commercial audio hardware: amplifiers, mixer-amplifiers, DSP processors or loudspeaker management systems.
- Strong command of Class-D amplifier design and switch-mode power supply topologies at high power levels.
- Working expertise in mixed-signal and HDI PCB architecture, along with SI, PI and thermal analysis practice.
- Practical experience with networked audio protocols (Dante, AES67 or AVB) and PTP-based synchronisation.
- Proven track record steering products through CE, FCC and IEC 61000 certification.
- Demonstrated people leadership: team building, mentoring, technical appraisal and cross-functional programme delivery.

Tools and Technologies

- Design and simulation: Cadence OrCAD and Allegro, KiCAD, LTSpice, HyperLynx, thermal simulation tools.
- Programme management: Jira, Confluence, Kanban, Gantt-based planning tools.
- Version control: GitLab, Bitbucket.
