Position Summary:

The Manager / AGM Minting leads the tool room that designs, makes, maintains and repairs the dies, tooling and print-related fixtures behind the minting operation, and keeps tooling available with minimal downtime.

- Team size: 20+ engineers and technicians
- Experience: 1215 years overall; minimum 5 years hands-on in a tool room workshop
- Location: MMTC PAMP Plant, Sohna Nuh, Haryana.

Key Responsibilities:

Tool room leadership

- Lead and manage the industrial tool room and its team of 20+ engineers and technicians across design, machining, wire cut, EDM, finishing and inspection.
- Plan workload, shift allocation and tooling priorities against production and minting schedules.
- Set tool room standards, SOPs and preventive-maintenance schedules for dies and tooling.

Die making and tooling

- Own the complete die-making process: design review, material selection, machining, heat treatment coordination, finishing, assembly, try-out and approval.
- Guide die and tooling design and validate dimensions, tolerances and surface finish before release.
- Drive improvements in die life, quality, cycle time and cost per die.

Breakdown response

- Respond to tooling breakdowns on a 24 x 7 basis and be physically present at the workshop when needed.
- Run root cause analysis on failures and put corrective and preventive actions in place.
- Maintain critical spares, backup dies and a tooling inventory to reduce downtime.

Programming and design oversight





- Oversee CAD/CAM design and programming for VMC, wire cut, EDM, CNC lathe and laser operations.
- Review and approve programs, toolpaths and design files created in NX, Elcam, E Cam V1, Rhino and AutoCAD.
- Review artwork and graphic files prepared in Photoshop and Illustrator for engraving and laser processes.

Printing and laser processes

- Support tooling and process needs for inkjet, screen and laser printing or marking, where applicable to the minting operation.
- Coordinate with production, quality and R&D; on recent designs, process trials and tooling changes.

People, safety and cost

- Hire, train, mentor and appraise engineers and technicians; build succession and multi-skilling.
- Enforce workshop safety, 5S and statutory compliance.
- Prepare and manage the tool room budget, machine utilisation, consumables and vendor and outsourcing spend.

Qualifications and Skills Required

- B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Printing Technology
- 10-15 years of total experience
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a tool room workshop
- Robust core knowledge of the die-making process, with hands-on experience in the first 35 years of career
- Minimum 10 years leading an industrial tool room with a team of 20+ engineers

Printing experience
