Job Summary

We are looking for qualified and experienced medical professionals for the position of Associate Professor in the Department of General Medicine. The selected candidates will be responsible for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical services, academic activities, research, and supervision of medical students and junior faculty.

Role & responsibilities

- Conduct lectures, practical sessions, bedside teaching, clinical demonstrations, and case-based discussions.
- Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, seminars, journal clubs, and clinical case presentations.
- Diagnose and manage patients with a wide range of medical conditions in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings.
- Supervise clinical rounds, patient management, and clinical training of residents and junior faculty.
- Contribute to curriculum delivery, student assessment, academic planning, and departmental activities.
- Participate in research projects, scientific publications, and academic conferences.
- Maintain accurate patient records, teaching documentation, and departmental reports.
- Ensure compliance with medical ethics, patient safety standards, infection-control practices, and institutional policies.
- Collaborate with other clinical departments to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Eligibility & Qualifications

- MD/DNB in General Medicine from a recognized institution, or an equivalent qualification recognized under applicable NMC regulations.
- Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or the concerned State Medical Council, as applicable.




- Minimum 4 years of experience as Assistant Professor in General Medicine at a recognized medical institution, subject to applicable NMC eligibility provisions.
- Minimum 2 research publications after appointment as Assistant Professor, meeting applicable NMC requirements, including authorship criteria.
- Completion of the Basic Course in Biomedical Research (BCBR), as applicable.
- Candidates must fulfill all applicable NMC, University, and Institutional eligibility criteria for the position of Associate Professor.

Relevant Experience

- Undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching.
- Clinical diagnosis and management of medical conditions.
- Supervision of residents, junior faculty, and clinical academic activities.
- Research, academic publications, and participation in medical conferences.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in General Medicine.
- Solid interest in teaching, academics, and clinical training.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Research-oriented approach with a commitment to academic development.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary hospital environment.
- Experience in managing complex medical cases, clinical emergencies, and inpatient/outpatient services will be an advantage.
