Job Description: Lead SDET Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Lead SDET Engineer with solid expertise in test automation, framework development, and quality engineering. The ideal candidate will lead automation initiatives, drive testing strategies, mentor team members, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software products.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable test automation frameworks.
- Develop and execute automated test scripts for web, API, integration, and backend applications.
- Define test strategies, automation roadmaps, and quality engineering best practices.
- Lead functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing activities.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to improve product quality.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex automation and testing issues.
- Mentor SDETs and QA engineers, review code, and drive technical excellence.
- Track automation coverage, defect trends, and testing metrics.
- Promote shift-left testing and improve overall test efficiency.

Required Skills

- 9+ years of experience in software testing and test automation,



including leadership responsibilities.
- Strong programming skills in Java.
- Expertise in test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Strong experience in API testing using REST Assured, Postman, or similar tools.
- Experience in framework design, reusable test components, and automation architecture.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Experience with Git, SQL, debugging, and defect management.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and software testing life cycle.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Good to Have

- Performance testing using JMeter or similar tools.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
- Knowledge of microservices testing, distributed systems, and test data management.
- Experience implementing quality metrics and automation best practices.
