Job Description - Expeditor (Procurement Executive)

Position Summary

The Expeditor (Procurement Executive) will be responsible for ensuring timely sourcing, procurement, follow-up, and delivery of both BOM and Non-BOM materials required for uninterrupted manufacturing operations in a Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) plant. The role demands strong vendor coordination, expediting capabilities, procurement planning, and material tracking to ensure adherence to production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

BOM Material Procurement

- Source, procure, and expedite critical BOM materials required for WTG manufacturing.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of production-critical components.
- Monitor procurement status and resolve supply chain issues proactively.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels while ensuring uninterrupted material availability.

- Rotor Shafts
- Electrical Steel Lamination Sheets
- Copper Bars
- Copper Coils
- Assembly Enclosures
- Structural & Fabricated Components
- Fasteners and Electrical Components

Non-BOM Material Procurement

- Handle sourcing and procurement of plant consumables, maintenance items, and operational supplies.
- Coordinate with maintenance, EHS, production, and administration teams for material requirements.
- Ensure timely availability of non-production materials to support plant operations.

Vendor Management & Expediting

- Develop and maintain relationships with approved suppliers.




- Follow up aggressively with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Track open purchase orders and expedite delayed orders.
- Conduct supplier performance monitoring and continuous follow-up.
- Coordinate with logistics teams for dispatch and delivery schedules.

Documentation & Reporting

- Generate RFQs and compare supplier quotations.
- Prepare purchase recommendations and procurement reports.
- Maintain procurement records, supplier databases, and order status trackers.
- Support audits and procurement compliance requirements.

Desired Skills

- Strong procurement and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of WTG manufacturing supply chains.
- Experience in sourcing both BOM and Non-BOM materials.
- Excellent negotiation and follow-up capabilities.
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics.
- Strong coordination, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and procurement reporting.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.

- On-Time Delivery (OTD) of purchase orders.
- Material availability against production plan.
- Supplier responsiveness and lead time adherence.
- Reduction in material shortages and line stoppages.
- Procurement cycle time and order closure efficiency.
