About the desk

We're scaling our proprietary quant trading desk in Ahmedabad. Our traders are active in NSE F&O; at high volume, and as we grow our in-house trading team, we need a dedicated manager to own daily operations, risk, and trader coordination - so the founder can focus on strategy and the wider business.

This is a dynamic, hands-on role at the operational core of the desk. You'll be the first point of contact for every trader and the person who keeps margin, risk, and broker records in order, every single day. We're looking for someone with the proven judgment to read a situation fast and act decisively in the best interest of the company - whether that's holding the line on risk, resolving a broker dispute, or making the call under live-market pressure.

What you'll do

Margin & risk

- Allocate daily margin across traders based on strategy, performance, and limits
- Monitor intraday margin utilisation, MTM, and loss limits — and act before limits are breached
- Track exposure and concentration across the desk, and flag risks early

Desk operations

- Run the daily sync-up call: previous day's P&L;, open positions, and the plan for the day
- Reconcile daily with the broker: contract notes, ledger, margin statements, and obligations
- Raise and resolve broker discrepancies the same day, with a clear written trail
- Keep desk records, limits, and procedures documented and current

Trader support & escalation

- Be the first point of contact for trader queries, platform issues, and order problems




- Resolve routine issues directly; escalate to the founder by agreed rules (loss limits, margin shortfall, broker issues)
- Enforce trading discipline and desk policies consistently

Reporting

- Send an end-of-day desk summary: P&L; by trader, margin use, and exceptions
- Prepare a weekly performance and risk review for the founder

What you bring

- 5+ years in NSE F&O; dealing, broker RMS (Risk Management System), or prop desk operations
- Hands-on knowledge of F&O; margining: SPAN + exposure margin, peak margin rules, MTM settlement
- Experience reconciling contract notes, ledgers, and margin statements with brokers
- Solid Excel skills (pivots, lookups, daily MIS)
- A proven track record of managing live situations with sound judgment and acting in the best interest of the desk and the business
- Calm, firm judgment under live-market pressure
- Clear communication with traders and senior management
- Willing to work full-time from our Ahmedabad office

Nice to have

- NISM Series VII (Securities Operations & Risk Management) and/or NISM Series VIII (Equity Derivatives)
- Python or SQL for automating reports and risk checks
- Experience with algo, quant, or high-frequency trading desks
- Prior experience managing or coordinating a team of traders or dealers
- Gujarati or Hindi, in addition to English
