Purpose/Objective

Team Member – Value Engineering & Innovation (MEP) is responsible for assisting in the analysis, documentation, and implementation of MEP value engineering initiatives across projects.

This includes collecting project data, preparing comparative studies, supporting pilot trials, and maintaining standard design toolkits.

The role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights, evaluate vendors, and ensure MEP design optimizations are practically viable and technically sound.

Key Responsibilities of Role

System Design Reviews: Review MEP drawings, detailed layouts, and technical specifications to identify instances of overdesign, inefficiency, outdated engineering practices, or inconsistent application of standards.

Compile and organize design-related observations and quantitative data to support the formulation of more effective and standardized solutions under the guidance of the lead.

Project Data Collection: Gather historical MEP project data across multiple assets to analyze design trends, system performance, and cost implications.

Support benchmarking exercises by compiling data tables and visual presentations.

Site Coordination and Observation: Visit sites to observe MEP installations, identify execution challenges, and collect firsthand data that can influence central VE recommendations.

Document issues and escalate any deviations from standard design norms.

Vendor Interaction: Help coordinate vendor technical meetings, prepare pre-meeting briefs, and maintain documentation of all MEP solution proposals.





Support technical comparisons and proposal scoring exercises.

Standardisation and Compliance: Assist in creating standard formats for MEP documentation such as BOQ templates, compliance checklists, and test protocols.

Maintain a centralized archive of finalized templates for reuse.

Stakeholder Communication and Updates: Share updates related to changes in standard templates, new MEP design guidelines, or procedural improvements with business unit stakeholders in a timely and well-structured manner.

Act as the communication and documentation link between central VEI teams and site-level stakeholders, ensuring alignment and timely feedback flow.

Skill Development: Participate actively in technical learning sessions organized by the VEI team or external partners on emerging MEP practices.

Work with senior team members to get hands-on exposure to BIM modeling and digital design tools.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Work Experience: 7+ years of experience in MEP design documentation, site support, or vendor coordination Familiarity with system-level performance evaluation and standard design practices Exposure to prefabrication, energy modeling, or BIM coordination is a plus
