System Engineer – Communication Systems
Join our innovative Defence and Aerospace Electronics Design & Manufacturing division as a System Engineer and help shape next-generation communication and radar solutions. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to architect, design, and validate advanced RF and digital communication systems that operate in the world’s most challenging environments. If you are passionate about system-level design and eager to see your concepts become mission-critical products, we would like to meet you.
Responsibilities:
1. Architect and design end-to-end communication systems, translating customer requirements into robust technical solutions.
2. Preparation of Link budget analysis, frequency planning, Power analysis.
3. Define and select ADC/DAC components, digital modulation schemes, and signal-processing architectures.
4. Generate system block diagrams, interface control documents, and performance models to guide detailed hardware and firmware design.
5. Lead system integration and verification activities, including RF performance tests, environmental qualification, and EMC/EMI compliance.
6. Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, mechanical, and software teams throughout the product lifecycle—from concept and prototyping to production and sustainment.
7. Perform trade studies and risk analyses to optimize cost, performance, and schedule.
8. Support customer technical reviews, design audits, and project milestone presentations.
9. Document design decisions, test results,
and compliance evidence in accordance with defence and aerospace standards.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
2. 2–8 years of hands-on experience as a System Engineer or equivalent role in RF/communication or aerospace/defence projects.
3. Proficiency in system-level design of RF communication or radar systems, including link analysis and spectrum allocation.
4. Solid understanding of antenna theory, Servo systems, RF front-end design, and digital communication/modulation schemes (QPSK, QAM, OFDM, etc.).
5. Experience selecting and integrating high-speed ADCs/DACs and mixed-signal interfaces.
6. Familiarity with the full product development lifecycle, configuration control, and design verification.
7. Ability to create clear technical documentation, block diagrams, and requirements specifications.
8. Working knowledge of modelling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, SystemVue, ADS, CST, HFSS).
9. Excellent problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and a cooperative mindset.
10. Eligibility to obtain relevant security clearance as required for defence projects.
Nice to Have:
1. Experience with phased-array antennas, beamforming, or software-defined radio (SDR) platforms.
2. Knowledge of defence and aerospace standards (e.g., MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, DO-160, DO-254, DO-178C).
3. Familiarity with FPGA/DSP development flows and high-speed digital design.
4. Background in system safety, reliability analysis, or RAM-T modelling.
