Software Engineer – DevOps

Role Summary:

We are seeking a Cloud & DevOps Engineer to build and operate secure, scalable, and highly available cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, and SRE practices to accelerate delivery, improve reliability, and enhance developer productivity through automation and platform engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering:

- Architect, build, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and reusable platform components.
- Drive cloud modernization, platform engineering, resiliency, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Establish standards and best practices for cloud operations, governance, and platform reliability.

CI/CD & GitOps:

- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
- Enable fast, reliable, and repeatable application deployments across environments.
- Drive adoption of GitOps practices using ArgoCD and modern deployment strategies such as Blue/Green and Canary releases.
- Continuously improve deployment speed, quality, and release stability.

Kubernetes & Container Platform Operations:

- Build, deploy, and manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred).
- Manage platform components including Helm charts, ingress controllers,



autoscaling, and workload security.
- Support lifecycle management, upgrades, and operational excellence of container platforms.

Automation & Developer Productivity:

- Eliminate manual processes through automation and infrastructure tooling.
- Develop scripts and frameworks using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Build self-service capabilities that enhance developer productivity and reduce operational overhead.

Monitoring, Observability & Reliability Engineering:

- Implement observability solutions using Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, CloudWatch, or similar platforms.
- Define and manage SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to improve service reliability.
- Establish proactive monitoring, alerting, dashboarding, and operational insights.
- Drive improvements in application performance, availability, and operational maturity.

Production Support & Incident Management:

- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex production incidents.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
- Develop long-term remediation plans to eliminate recurring issues.
- Create runbooks and automation playbooks to reduce operational toil and improve support efficiency.

Security, Compliance & DevSecOps:

- Integrate security controls and compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
- Manage IAM, secrets, certificates, and key rotation processes following least-privilege principles.
- Implement automated vulnerability scanning and remediation practices.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise security, governance, and compliance standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Provide technical leadership for cloud, DevOps, platform engineering, and SRE initiatives.
- Partner with Engineering, QA, Product, Security,



and Platform teams to deliver scalable solutions.
- Mentor engineers and drive adoption of enterprise-wide DevOps best practices.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-powered automation and operational tools.

Required Qualifications:

- 5-9 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EKS, EC2, Lambda, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, API Gateway, Route53).
- Proven expertise in CI/CD platforms such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with GitOps practices and tools such as ArgoCD. – Good to have
- Robust Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred, CloudFormation or equivalent). - Mandatory
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS) or Helm. Mandatory
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience designing and operating highly available, scalable distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of cloud security, IAM, secrets management, and DevSecOps practices.
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or CloudWatch.
- Knowledge of SRE principles including SLIs, SLOs, incident management, and reliability engineering.
- Interest in leveraging AI-driven solutions for automation, observability, and operational excellence.

Preferred / Nice to Have:

- AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, CKA, or CKS certifications.
- Experience with Kafka, SNS, SQS, or EventBridge.
- Familiarity with API gateways (Kong, Apigee) and CDN platforms (Akamai, CloudFront).
- Experience with Platform Engineering, Internal Developer Platforms (IDP), and self-service infrastructure.
- Exposure to cloud cost optimization practices.
- Experience in retail, eCommerce, RFID, inventory management, or omnichannel platforms.
- Curiosity for emerging technologies including AI/ML and AIOps.
