Overview Retail Business Services (RBS) supports Amazon's Retail business growth WW through three core tasks:

1. Selection: RBS sources, creates, and enriches ASINs to drive GMS growth.
2. Defect Elimination: RBS resolves inbound supply chain defects and develops root cause fixes to improve free cash flow.
3. Support operational processes for WW Retail teams where there is an air gap in the tech stack.

The tech team in RBS develops automation that leverages Machine/Deep Learning to scale execution of these highly complex tasks that currently require human cognitive skills. Our solutions ensure that information in Amazon's catalog is complete, correct, and comprehensive enough to provide customers with a great shopping experience every time. We are building solutions to move towards retail automation and are using the latest technology like LLM to solve business problems.

Position We are seeking a Software Development Engineer (SDE) who can design and develop systems for our businesses. Key Job Responsibilities We are looking for an experienced Software Developer with a diverse skill set and background. As an SDE-2, your work will consistently exhibit high quality. You will:

- Solve difficult problems applying appropriate technologies and best practices.
- Work with your team to invent, design, and build stable and performant software.
- Be proficient in a broad range of design approaches and know when to apply them (and when not to).
- Limit the use of short-term workarounds.
- Create flexible software without over-engineering.
- Make appropriate trade-offs, reuse where possible, and judiciously introduce dependencies.
- Be efficient with resource usage (e.g., system hardware, database, memory/CPU, etc.).
- Collaborate on project ideas with customers, stakeholders, and peers.
- Help your team evolve by actively participating in code review processes, design discussions, team planning, and ticket/metric reviews.
- Focus on operational excellence by constructively identifying problems and proposing solutions.
- Work on software enhancements that improve team software and processes.
- Train new members on how team's software is constructed, operates, is secured, and fits into the bigger picture.

Basic Qualifications

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

- 3 years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
