Credit Control Analyst – Job Description (EdTech Industry) Role Overview The Credit Control Analyst is responsible for managing customer credit accounts, monitoring outstanding receivables, and ensuring timely collections from distributors, schools, and institutional clients. The role supports the finance team by reducing credit risk, maintaining healthy cash flow, and ensuring accurate financial records. Key Responsibilities 1.

Accounts

Receivable & Credit Monitoring ● Monitor customer credit limits and payment terms. ● Track outstanding invoices and follow up for timely collections. ● Maintain updated accounts receivable ageing reports. 2.

Collection

Management ● Coordinate with distributors, schools, and institutional clients for payment follow-ups. ● Resolve payment delays and escalate overdue accounts when required. ● Ensure collection targets are achieved as per company policy. 3.

Ledger

Reconciliation ● Perform customer ledger reconciliation and track outstanding balances. ● Identify discrepancies in debit/credit entries and coordinate with the finance team for resolution. 4.

Credit Risk

Assessment ● Evaluate creditworthiness of new customers or distributors. ● Support finance team in setting or revising credit limits. ● Monitor potential bad debts and recommend corrective actions.





- Vendor & Internal Coordination ● Coordinate with the sales team, operations, and finance for billing issues and dispute resolution. ● Follow up for debit notes, credit notes, and billing clarifications.
- Reporting & Documentation ● Prepare AR ageing reports, collection status reports, and credit risk analysis. ● Maintain proper documentation of invoices, adjustments, and payment records.

Skills &

Qualifications Education ● Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.

Experience ● 2–5 years of experience in credit control / accounts receivable / collections, preferably in EdTech, publishing, or distribution-based industries.

Technical

Skills ● Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, MIS reporting) ● ERP / Accounting software ● Basic financial analysis Key Competencies ● Strong analytical and reconciliation skills ● Positive communication and negotiation abilities ● Attention to detail ● Ability to work with cross-functional teams Preferred (EdTech Specific Exposure) ● Experience handling school / institutional billing and distributor collections. ● Understanding of academic product sales cycles and credit terms.
