Our long-term vision is to build a Nutrition Intelligence Engine and Dark Factory for Food—a technology-driven ecosystem that combines nutrition science, data analytics, intelligent food manufacturing, and personalization to create scalable wellness solutions.

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who can help transform nutrition, food, customer, and operational data into actionable intelligence, predictive models, and data-driven products.

Intelligence &
- Data Modelling

- Design data models that connect nutritional composition, ingredients, dietary patterns, individual preferences, lifestyle factors, and wellness objectives.
- Translate nutrition research and domain-expert knowledge into structured datasets, measurable parameters, and analytical frameworks.
- Collaborate with nutritionists and food scientists to develop evidence-based, personalised nutrition recommendations.
- Machine Learning &
- Predictive Analytics
- Develop and evaluate statistical models and machine learning algorithms for customer segmentation, behavioural patterns, program adherence, retention, and wellness outcomes.
- Explore predictive modelling for dietary preferences, customer progress, and personalised program optimisation.
- Validate model performance, reliability, bias, and limitations before deployment.
- Nutrition Intelligence Engine Development
- Help design the data science architecture underpinning Kefilo’s Nutrition Intelligence Engine.
- Combine structured nutrition data, food composition, customer assessments, and program outcomes to improve personalisation.
- Work with product and engineering teams to integrate analytical models and recommendation logic into digital products.
- Food Intelligence &
- Dark Factory R&D;
- Analyse ingredient properties, nutritional composition, recipes, food formulations, portion sizes, and production parameters.
- Develop analytical methods to support recipe standardisation, nutritional consistency, product development, and manufacturing efficiency.




- Identify opportunities to use data science for demand forecasting, production planning, waste reduction, and quality improvement.
- Data Engineering &
- Analytics Infrastructure
- Define data requirements, data schemas, collection protocols, validation rules, and preprocessing pipelines.
- Build reproducible analytical workflows using Python, SQL, and appropriate data science libraries.
- Establish data-quality checks, documentation, version control, and monitoring practices in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Business Intelligence &
- Growth Analytics
- Develop dashboards and analytical reports covering customer acquisition, retention, program completion, product performance, revenue, and unit economics.
- Analyse customer behaviour and conversion funnels to identify opportunities for improving product-market fit and business growth.
- Support management with data-backed recommendations on pricing, customer segmentation, product strategy, and operational efficiency.
- Research, Experimentation &
- Validation
- Design experiments, A/B tests, and statistical evaluations to assess product features, recommendations, and customer engagement initiatives.
- Establish appropriate success metrics and measurement frameworks for nutrition and business outcomes.
- Document findings, communicate uncertainty, and ensure analytical conclusions are supported by reliable evidence.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration &
- Technical Leadership
- Work closely with nutritionists, food scientists, product managers, software engineers, and business operations teams.
- Translate business and scientific problems into practical analytical solutions and clearly communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Help establish data science standards, mentor team members where appropriate, and contribute to Kefilo’s long-term R&D; roadmap.

Required Qualifications &

- Experience

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Significant hands-on experience in data science, statistical modelling, machine learning, or applied analytics.
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL,



data manipulation, exploratory data analysis, and statistical methods.
- Experience developing, evaluating, and validating machine learning models and analytical pipelines.
- Ability to work with complex datasets, identify data-quality issues, and communicate findings through clear visualisations and reports.
- Understanding of experimental design, model evaluation, reproducibility, and responsible data handling.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in an early-stage, cross-functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in NutritionTech, FoodTech, HealthTech, digital health, functional foods, personalised nutrition, or preventive wellness.
- Knowledge of nutritional databases, food composition data, ingredient analysis, recipe optimisation, or food manufacturing analytics.
- Experience with recommendation systems, time-series analysis, customer behaviour modelling, or predictive analytics.
- Familiarity with cloud data infrastructure, APIs, model deployment, and production machine learning workflows.
- Experience collaborating with domain experts to translate scientific knowledge into deployable data products.
- Research publications, relevant projects, or demonstrated experience building data-driven products will be an advantage.

- Equity Structure

- This is an equity-based founding team position; no fixed salary is available at the current stage.
- Expected commitment is approximately 20–25 hours per week.
- Equity participation will be discussed based on expertise, responsibilities, contribution, and long-term commitment.
- A proposed five-year vesting structure will align equity participation with sustained contribution and company growth.
- Fixed compensation may be introduced after funding and revenue stabilisation. This could take 6–8 months or potentially a year, depending on business progress.
