Senior AI / Full-Stack Engineer - Azure & RAG

Part time Contract | Remote - India | ₹50,000–₹1,00,000/month

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on AI / Full-Stack Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of professional industry experience to help build an enterprise-grade, AI-powered knowledge and technical-support assistant.

About the Project

We are developing an intelligent AI chatbot / assistant for a North American enterprise operating SAP-based business processes.

The assistant will

- Understand organization-specific business processes and answer questions conversationally.
- Analyze internal business documentation and historical SAP/IT support tickets.
- Identify relevant past issues and recommend potential resolutions based on verified historical cases.
- Provide context-aware troubleshooting guidance with supporting references.
- Integrate into an existing enterprise web application.
- Operate within an Azure-based architecture designed for enterprise security, scalability, and maintainability.

An initial application and prototype already exist. We need someone capable of improving the existing implementation, strengthening its AI capabilities, and progressing it toward enterprise production readiness.

Key Responsibilities

AI & RAG Engineering

- Develop and optimize LLM-powered conversational applications using Azure OpenAI or equivalent technologies.
- Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, hybrid search, semantic retrieval, and reranking.
- Build document-ingestion pipelines for PDFs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and historical support-ticket datasets.
- Improve conversational context, answer relevance, source grounding, and hallucination mitigation.
- Enable multi-turn conversations, contextual understanding, and intelligent troubleshooting.




- Design evaluation and regression-testing frameworks for AI responses.

Full-Stack Development & Azure Integration

- Develop and maintain backend APIs using Python/FastAPI or equivalent frameworks.
- Integrate AI capabilities into an existing React/TypeScript application.
- Work with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Blob Storage, App Service, and related services.
- Build maintainable, scalable application components and deployment pipelines.

Enterprise Security & Production Engineering

- Implement secure authentication and authorization using Microsoft Entra ID.
- Design role-based, permission-aware knowledge retrieval.
- Apply secure API integration, secrets management, logging, monitoring, and error handling.
- Address prompt injection, sensitive-data protection, and unauthorized information disclosure.
- Develop automated tests, technical documentation, and deployment/recovery procedures.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering or related industry experience.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience building LLM applications, preferably enterprise RAG assistants.
- Strong Python development and API integration skills.
- Experience with React, TypeScript, or modern web application frameworks.
- Practical experience with Azure, particularly Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Search.
- Understanding of vector databases/search, document-processing pipelines, and LLM evaluation.
- Familiarity with application security, authentication, Git, Docker, and CI/CD.
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver functioning software.

Good to Have
- Experience building AI-powered helpdesk or IT troubleshooting assistants.
- Familiarity with SAP, ERP, ServiceNow,



Jira, or enterprise knowledge-management systems.
- Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar orchestration frameworks.
- Experience working with AI coding assistants such as OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot.
- Experience taking AI prototypes through production deployment.

SAP functional expertise is not mandatory. Business-domain guidance will be provided.

Engagement Details

- Location: 100% Remote — India
- Employment type: Part-time contract
- Compensation: ₹50,000–₹1,00,000 per month, depending on experience and demonstrated technical capability
- Commitment: Part-time, with flexible hours and mutually agreed availability for collaboration
- Duration: Initial project engagement, with potential extension based on progress and project requirements
