Key Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Material Requirements Planning (MRP):
- Responsibility: Analyze production schedules and project requirements to determine the types and quantities of raw materials needed (e.g., semiconductors, capacitors, resistors, inductors).
- Role: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to align material requirements with project timelines and technical specifications.

- Supplier Selection and Management:

- Responsibility: Identify and evaluate suppliers that provide quality materials at competitive prices. Assess their reliability, technical capabilities, and delivery performance.
- Role: Establish long-term relationships with suppliers and ensure they meet the required standards for power electronics components, considering factors like voltage ratings, power handling capacity, and thermal performance.

- Procurement and Purchasing:

- Responsibility: Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers. Place orders for raw materials and monitor the purchasing process.
- Role: Ensure accurate ordering, avoid overstocking or understocking, and facilitate the timely delivery of materials for production.

- Quality Control and Assurance:

- Responsibility: Ensure that raw materials meet the required technical and quality standards. This includes conducting inspections and verifying the specifications of materials (e.g., for high-voltage components or specific thermal properties).
- Role: Work closely with the quality assurance (QA) team to perform inspections, audits, and tests on incoming materials.

- Cost Management:

- Responsibility: Monitor material costs, manage budgets, and strive for cost reductions while maintaining quality standards.




- Role: Identify cost-effective alternatives for raw materials without compromising on performance or safety.

- Logistics and Inventory Management:

- Responsibility: Ensure productive handling, storage, and transportation of materials. This involves overseeing inventory levels to avoid production delays and maintain proper stock.
- Role: Work with logistics teams to manage the delivery schedule, ensure materials are stored under optimal conditions, and track stock levels to prevent shortages or excess.

- Compliance and Documentation:

- Responsibility: Ensure that the purchase of raw materials complies with industry standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Role: Maintain proper documentation related to raw material purchases, including certificates of compliance, safety data sheets, and invoices.

- Collaboration with Engineering Teams:

- Responsibility: Coordinate with engineers to understand specific material requirements for power electronics designs.
- Role: Provide input on the availability, specifications, and alternatives for materials based on engineering requirements.

- Risk Management:

- Responsibility: Assess and mitigate risks associated with the procurement process, such as supplier reliability, price fluctuations, and material availability.
- Role: Develop strategies for mitigating supply chain disruptions and work on securing backup suppliers for critical materials.

- Vendor Performance Evaluation:

- Responsibility: Regularly assess and review supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.
- Role: Maintain a vendor scorecard to evaluate the effectiveness of raw material suppliers and ensure continuous improvement.
