Job Summary

KIS IB, Chembur, is looking for a qualified and passionate Economics Teacher to teach students across the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme (DP) for an 8-month substitute assignment. The ideal candidate should have strong subject knowledge, effective teaching skills, and the ability to ensure continuity of learning and curriculum delivery throughout the assignment.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging Economics lessons aligned with the MYP, IGCSE and IB DP curriculum requirements.

- Develop lesson plans, teaching resources, assessments and learning activities to cater to diverse student needs.

- Teach economic concepts, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics and development economics, as applicable to the respective curriculum.

- Encourage critical thinking, analytical reasoning and the application of economic theories to current affairs and real-world situations.

- Prepare students for internal assessments, examinations and other curriculum-specific assessment requirements.

- Guide IB DP students with Internal Assessments (IA), research, data interpretation and economic analysis.

- Assess student performance, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate academic records.

- Monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions to support learning outcomes.

- Ensure continuity of teaching, learning and assessment throughout the substitute assignment.





- Collaborate with the department and school leadership to support curriculum delivery and academic performance.

- Participate in parent meetings, departmental meetings, professional development programmes and school activities, as required.

- Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance classroom learning.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics or a relevant discipline.

- B.Ed. or an equivalent teaching qualification is preferred, subject to programme requirements.

- Prior experience teaching Economics at IGCSE and IB DP levels is preferred.

- Familiarity with the MYP framework and inquiry-based learning approaches.

- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of curriculum-specific assessment requirements.

- Excellent communication, classroom management and student engagement skills.

- Ability to integrate current economic developments and real-world examples into teaching.

Contract Duration
