About the project

OpsLabel is building a team of ML researchers for a one-time research documentation project with our client. You will look back at your own accepted ML paper and write about the journey behind it, covering what motivated the work, the hypotheses you started with, the experiments you ran, approaches that did not work, important decisions you made, surprising findings, and lessons you learned that never made it into the published version. The survey will be completed on our client platform.

Your role

- Answer around 10 open-ended questions per survey
- Each survey is based on one qualifying paper
- You can submit surveys for a maximum of two qualifying papers
- Each survey takes roughly 60 minutes
- Surveys must be submitted within 48 hours of getting access to the project platform

Compensation

- Compensation details will be shared with qualified applicants
- Payment is made only for surveys that are accepted

Requirements

- Hands-on experience in machine learning
- First author of a paper accepted to the main conference of ICML, NeurIPS,



or ICLR between 2024 and 2026
- A Master's, PhD, or advanced research background in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
- PhD candidates, PhD holders, postdocs, faculty members, and research scientists are a particularly strong fit
- Applicants from any country are welcome

Significant guidelines

- Papers from workshops are not eligible
- Co-authored papers are not eligible, including equal-contribution second authorship
- All answers must be your own, based on your real research experience, and written without any LLM or AI tools
- Do not share unpublished research, confidential information, personal contact details, or sensitive personal information in your answers
- Your name, paper citation, and survey answers will be shared with the project sponsor
- Identity verification (KYC) is required before you start
