Role Overview

We are looking for a Middle Mile & Transportation Manager to design, manage, and scale warehouse-to-store replenishment operations across a growing city network. The role involves owning transportation planning, replenishment schedules, route optimisation, logistics costs, reverse logistics, and new store onboarding.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in middle-mile operations, route planning, transporter management, and supply chain optimisation, with strong analytical and program management skills. The candidate should be comfortable working closely with warehouse teams, store operations, and logistics partners in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and manage warehouse-to-store replenishment schedules, including dispatch timings, delivery frequency, and store-level replenishment planning.

- Own warehouse-to-store turnaround time (TAT), on-time dispatch, and on-time delivery performance.

- Plan and optimise delivery routes, milk runs, vehicle utilisation, and trip consolidation across the store network.

- Build emergency and top-up replenishment processes for fast-moving and critical SKUs.

- Own transportation costs, including cost per unit, cost per trip, fuel, detention, waiting time, and vehicle utilisation.

- Evaluate and implement route, vehicle, and replenishment frequency improvements to reduce logistics costs.

- Manage reverse logistics, including near-expiry returns, damaged stock, vendor returns, and inter-store transfers.





- Track and manage logistics assets such as crates, totes, and cold boxes, ensuring accountability and minimising losses.

- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for stock and logistics discrepancies.

- Lead new store onboarding from a middle-mile perspective, including route setup, transporter capacity, delivery schedules, and initial stock replenishment.

- Develop SOPs, train warehouse and store teams, and ensure operational compliance.

- Run process improvement pilots, track outcomes, and build dashboards to monitor operational performance.

Must-Have Requirements
- 3–6 years of experience in middle-mile operations, transportation, warehouse operations, or supply chain management.

- Experience in quick commerce, e-commerce, pharma distribution, or third-party logistics (3PL).

- Hands-on experience in route planning, transporter management, and transportation cost optimisation.

- Proven ability to improve logistics efficiency through measurable cost and operational outcomes.

- Strong program management skills, with the ability to coordinate initiatives across warehouse teams, stores, and external logistics partners.

- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in advanced Excel/Google Sheets, along with SQL or hands-on GenAI experience.

- Working knowledge of logistics documentation, including e-way bills, GST invoicing, and stock transfer compliance.





- Willingness to work on-site and visit warehouses and stores regularly, including during early dispatch hours.

- Strong ownership, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities.

Good to Have
- Experience in pharmaceutical supply chains or cold-chain logistics.

- Familiarity with Positive Distribution Practices (GDP).

- Exposure to Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), or route optimisation tools.

- Experience scaling a city-level distribution network from a small number of stores to a larger network.

- Knowledge of Kannada or other regional languages for effective communication with warehouse teams and drivers.

- Experience with data-driven logistics planning, automation, and operational dashboards.
