Purpose/Objective

To lead the planning, design management, coordination, and governance of Engineering Services and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems across residential, commercial, mixed-use, township, and integrated development projects.

The role will be responsible for ensuring technically robust, sustainable, cost-productive, and execution-ready engineering solutions while driving design excellence, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Engineering Services & MEP Design Management - Lead the design and development of MEP systems across multiple projects from concept through execution.

- Establish engineering design standards, specifications, and technical guidelines aligned with organizational objectives.
- Review and approve HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, ELV, Utility, and Building Automation System designs.
- Ensure engineering solutions are efficient, scalable, sustainable, and aligned with project requirements.

Design Coordination & Integration - Coordinate with Architectural, Structural, Interior Design, Landscape, and Project Management teams for integrated design delivery.

- Drive multidisciplinary design reviews and resolve interface and coordination challenges.
- Lead BIM-based design coordination and constructability reviews.
- Ensure seamless integration of engineering systems into overall project design.

Technical Governance & Compliance - Ensure adherence to NBC, Fire & Life Safety Standards, Electrical Regulations, Green Building Guidelines, and local authority requirements.

- Review engineering deliverables for technical accuracy, quality, and compliance.
- Support statutory approvals, technical due diligence, and regulatory submissions.
- Identify and mitigate engineering risks impacting project schedules, quality, and cost.





Project Execution Support - Provide engineering leadership during project execution and construction stages.

- Review shop drawings, technical submittals, RFIs, material approvals, and design change requests.
- Conduct periodic site reviews to ensure compliance with approved designs and specifications.
- Support resolution of critical technical and engineering issues during construction.

Sustainability & Smart Building Solutions - Drive implementation of energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable engineering systems.

- Support IGBC, LEED, GRIHA, ESG, and Smart Building initiatives.
- Encourage adoption of innovative technologies related to automation, energy management, water conservation, and intelligent building operations.
- Evaluate emerging engineering solutions to improve asset performance and operational efficiency.

Cost Management & Value Engineering - Lead value engineering exercises to optimize system performance and lifecycle costs.

- Review project budgets, CAPEX estimates, BOQs, and technical procurement requirements.
- Support procurement teams in technical evaluation and selection of vendors, contractors, and equipment suppliers.
- Recommend cost-effective design alternatives without compromising quality and functionality.

Stakeholder & Consultant Management - Manage relationships with engineering consultants, specialist agencies, contractors, and internal stakeholders.





- Monitor consultant performance and ensure timely delivery of design milestones.
- Collaborate with Design, Projects, Procurement, Planning, Sales, CRM, Finance, and Facilities Management teams.
- Present engineering reviews, project risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.

Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement - Lead and mentor engineering and design coordination teams.

- Drive engineering excellence through continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge-sharing practices.
- Establish performance metrics and review mechanisms for engineering deliverables.
- Promote best practices and innovation across the engineering function.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualification - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline.

- Master's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Professional certifications in PMP, LEED, IGBC, BIM, or Building Services will be an added advantage.

Experience - 12–18 years of experience in Engineering Services, MEP Design, Building Services Engineering, or Design Management within the real estate, infrastructure, hospitality, or commercial development sectors.

- Proven experience in managing MEP design and coordination for large-scale residential, commercial, mixed-use, and township projects.
- Strong expertise in consultant management, technical governance, sustainability initiatives, and execution support.
- Experience in handling multiple projects and multidisciplinary stakeholder coordination.
